I so wanted to go back for the 50th anniversary celebration in late 2021. I long for the full experience there again which includes the park street performers, live show productions, fireworks, parades, character meet and greets and so forth. Yes, I even miss the buffet table service meals. I really don't want to experience Disney World behind a mask or having to worry how close someone else may be to me and my family, either.

Now, I'm just not hopeful that Disney will bring itself all back by 2021. I doubt they will invest much in the 50th anniversary celebration, either. I know I'm being stubborn about it all but unless Disney gets back to at least 80% of what it was before the virus I don't see going back again. It just doesn't make sense financially to go back just for rides; it's not enough for me. We live in the Midwest. There are plenty of amusement parks closer to home to do roller coasters and such. And it doesn't look like Disney is ready to give any deals to go there just for rides. I would personally need a significant drop in all prices (resorts, park tickets and eating costs) to go back just for rides. I know Disney is hurting right now; so, I doubt they will do that either.

Of course, I'm assuming some time in the future we will have the virus more under control; hopefully, we can even eliminate it. So, I haven't given up all hope of going back again but I'm now feeling it may take 3-5 years before we see Disney World resemble what it once was.

So, how do you feel? When will you go again? Will you go back just for rides?

Have reservations for November and April, plan to go.

Hoping to go Thanksgiving Week 2021. Would prefer everything available but would go no matter what unless no vaccine or still high in cases I have an elderly DM and my DH has health issues.

We are still hoping to go late October - next one booked after that is end of Feb.

Already did and will most likely go again at Thanksgiving;.

I put 2-4 years. We have other travel plans that had to be cancelled this year and frankly, I'd rather put the money towards them. Thinking sometime maybe in 2022.
I am keeping my Universal AP though, now with the extension and 3 month extra on top of that, + 1/2 the price for a top tier pass--that is still worth it to me.

The president of Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is recommending a six week shutdown of the economy to curb the virus. I guess the real question is if Disney closes again will they reopen till this is done in 18 months as there are predictions it will continue.

I commend Disney for taking the steps to keep people safe but they may have no choice but to shutdown for a long time.

In any case I have my reservation in December to cancel and GF next summer to hope for.

Hoping for fall of 2021 but not real optimistic. Thought about going this year but I'm not paying full price (and that's all I see so far) for an already overpriced resort with severely limited perks (we always park hop, like the pools, like some shows/fireworks). There was never much value with a Disney vacation, even though we loved going, and there's much, much less value now.

Well I just got back from a trip, I usually go twice a year, but I think the one time will be enough this year. I had a good time, but several things that I love weren't available including several restaurants, limited menus, no after dark hours, and even further reduced parks hours, etc. It's just not worth the money right now to ME.

I will go back at some point before September 2021 since that's when the last two days of my ticket expires.

Setting COVID and related restrictions aside (we live in Canada and will of course wait until the border reopens and travel seems reasonable health-wise), our park-related non-negotiables will be:

1. Fireworks and parades returning
2. All restaurants reopened with full menus, ideally DDP available
3. Ability to easily park and resort hop, plan our itinerary with flexibility
4. Character meet and greets and character meals resuming
5. Regular park hours
6. No masks required (traveling with a 2 year old who can do max 1 hour at a time)

It seems unlikely this will be in 2021, it makes me sad but I think at this point we are looking at 2022. While I wouldn't mind the experience of a scaled-back trip, there is no way I could stomach paying a luxury vacation price for it.

We’re booked for December 2020 and I plan on going. Normally I would just postpone to next year or later, when things are closer to normal. But this is a bigger trip we’re taking with my husband’s family and I don’t think we’ll all have a time in the next 5 years when we’re all available again for the trip.

I’m not happy about paying more for less experiences, but for us being able to take a vacation with the whole family outweighs the negatives.

I cancelled our June 2021 trip Friday. I think Disney will need more time to regroup to get back to “normal”. And honestly, I lost my drive to go. We will wait to see what 2022 holds and if I get the feels to go back.

We have a tentative trip to WDW planned for November 2022 but it will all depend on what things look like then. We originally had planned for DLR this year and WDW next year but now have pushed our DLR trip to next summer (fingers crossed) so that pushes WDW to 2022.

We have already gone once (5 park days, on property). We have Platinum APs and will most likely go back again before the APs expire. Once they expire, we will not go back until we feel the value is there. Prices have gone up but the experience has decreased. We spent a boatload of money on our APs and will never see the value we paid for them. I just can't justify spending Disney prices on the experience we know is there right now.
