When do you think they will start selling Annual Passes again?

Me too! I leave 100 days from today for 2 weeks and would love to be able to get an annual pass again, also have another 3 days booked in February.

I don't see it happening any time soon.

I'm thinking never....it's not a money maker like the other tickets are

You could be right...the amount we've paid on seven-day park hopper plus passes for the three weeks at WDW this year is far more than an annual pass used to be (and we were Platinum Plus). So Disney is making a lot more off of us now. Why would they reduce that margin? (from their perspective).

If they don't sell them anymore they will endnup getting less money from me because instead of going 3 times a year and staying at onsite hotels and eating at onsite restaurants and buying their merch I'll go once every year or 2. I've already started spending my vacation money on cruises instead. My 17 year ild decided he'd rather do a 2 week cruise than a 2 week disney trip for his grad trip. Annual passes do make money it just might not he from park entry.

The fact that they are not selling is why it’s a struggle for me to decide whether to renew or not. …or it could be an addiction to going with 9 trips since July 2019. With only 2 AP’s …so I’m got my moneys worth. I had AP July 2019-Nov 2020, then got a recovery AP for 2019 prices and have used that between September 2021-now. 12 day trip upcoming this September. Mix of on-site and off-site (timeshare).

I was hoping before March and then it didn’t happen, then was hoping before July and it didn’t happen, I’m hoping before September but know it’s not going to happen and maybe before my December trip but again wishful thinking. The amount of trips this year it would’ve just made sense for me to have my AP back. I wish I had renewed it at the end of 2019 but decided not to because of a Paris trip in April 2020, that obviously didn’t happen. I was going to purchase last September when they were back for that short time but was waiting till onsite, which was a couple days after announcing they were stopping again, guess I should’ve just got them online when I was going to. Hindsight sucks sometimes. 😞😞

I still expect that this will happen after the end of the 50th anniversary, so sometime next year.

They did say they would sell them again in 2022 but who knows...

For our part we've been to Orlando two times since March and headed back twice more before the end of the year. We bought Universal annual passes and have gone a bunch - bought merch, food, stayed onsite, etc.

Disney 0 times so far.

For our upcoming trip we have one night at Disney for MNSSHP and one overnight at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The rest at Universal!

My take is, not until they need more visitors. Which doesn't seem to be a problem right now based on room availabilities in the fall and park reservations that fill up. Many years ago, I had planned to get APs for the 50th but now, I am planning our last WDW trip for MANY years (only reasons we are going back are we have 3 Canadian non-expiring tickets I want to use and my youngest doesn't remember our last trips very well). I just think the product/destination lost its appeal and I don't feel it's worth it anymore to visit even once a year. Instead, I am having fun planning other Disney destinations like Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, Aulani and non-Disney trips (Rockies, Europe, Costa Rica).

My gut tells me Disney will not offer annual passes to the general population until after the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Disney is making far too much money from the targeted “package“ vacationers that are purchasing limited passes along with the Genie Tax. After 2022, when the crowds subside, you may see Disney re-target the loyalists that visit the parks frequently.

Reading interview Chapek had with the Hollywood reporter my guess they aren't coming back til enough people let there's lapse.

Chapek interview with the Hollywood reporter when talking about "Superfans".

"But at the same time, we’ve got to make sure that there’s room in the park for the family from Denver that comes once every five years. We didn’t have a reservation system and we didn’t control the number of annual passes we distributed and frankly, the annual pass as a value was so great that people were literally coming all the time and the accessibility of the park was unlimited to them and that family from Denver would get to the park and not be let in. That doesn’t seem like a real balanced proposition.”

Judging by the them saying control the number of passes distributed and they haven't come back yet tells me they are happy with the number they have right now. If we get to where it's slow again they will just open up block out dates.

Almost same story here, not only have we bought USO annual passes, but we have renewed them (I never thought I'd say that sentence, but.....). I just want a Disney annual pass :(
