I usually take mine down Jan 1, but since I will be at Disney World that day I think I am going to wait until we get back. When do you take yours down? :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

New Year's day or a few days later, depending on our schedule.

I'm always surprised at the amount of people who take their trees down the day after Christmas! To me it's still very much the holiday season and it wouldn't be the same without the tree up and decorated!

We leave our decorations up through New Year's. This year we leave for Florida the 7th of Jan. so I want every thing down and put away before this. I don't want to have all of that work waiting for me when I come home! ;)

I wait until Jan 2nd. I've always heard it was good luck to leave it up past the new year. I don't know where it came from but my grandparents did it and so did my parents.
Heres a funny...kind of. One year, we had a live tree and while I took all the decorations off, my ex husband refused to take it out to the curb for me. I can be stubborn so it sat there until Easter that year. By then, both of us were embarrassed to take it out. Didn't want the neighbors to see us hauling a Christmas tree out in April or May (can't remember which month it came in that year). At midnight one night, we finally took it out, and like an idiot, he pulls it out the front door by the trunk, effeciently removing every single dead needle from it on the way. We drug it down to a neighbors house almost a block away so no one would know where it came from. :rotfl:
I swear I found needles in my living room for over a year from that stupid tree.
DH and I now have an artificial tree, so its not an issue anymore

My tree usually comes down the morning of the 26th. I have a very small living room, we have to move out a chair to put it in the tree. DD's birthday is the 31st. I do not have room for everyone and the tree so it has to go.

I usually take mine down the day after xmas.... I put it up the day after thanksgiving and am pretty tired of it by xmas. Does that make me a scrooge? LOL. I am just ready to have my house back by xmas.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Reminds me of right before I had DS in 1992. December 28th 6 days prior to having him---can you say huge, lol, I decided I wanted that tree down. Nesting I guess. It was driving me nuts and I was getting ticked off because the needles were falling off, this was the worst tree we had ever gotten. OK so let me set the picture...me great with babe in her styling white flannel long nightgown that had some faded touches of pink-too much bleach I guess, 2 toddlers running arond, a St. Bernard that thought I wanted to play, and this huge tree with the tinkling needles falling off. By the time I dragged that sucker 10 feet across the floor there was not a needle on it! :earseek: :rotfl: When I made it 3 more feet to the front door both me and the tree got stuck, thankfully DH happened to be coming to check on me in the lineman truck at the same time! They still talk about that at the electric company and it has been 13 years Dec. 28th! :rotfl2: He takes the trees down now.

Usually somewhere around the 4th of July. :rolleyes1

We do it after 3 Kings day Jan 7th.

Until the ephiphany. My mom was adamant about that, but never told us why. Until we started Sunday school, we thought the wisemen came to the stable to take down the decorations. :rotfl2: Sorry, pathetic joke my dad always said.

We also try to leave it up until Epiphany - the 12th day of Christmas.

hmmm.....3 years later! Yep, that really happened but it was on a bet and we won $1,000 for each year it was left up. After the 3rd. year I no longer cared and insisted it HAD to come down. This year it's back up after a **LONG** absence but only because lots of people are coming to our house for the holidays. DH muttered something about leaving it up again for an extended time. NO!!!!!!!

Dec 26th if I have my way! This year I am having company on the 26th though so I will take it down the following day! I hate having it up after New Years....by the day after Chrsitams I am sick of it and ready for it to all be packed away for another year! No way could I leave it up fopr 12 days after Christmas, that would make me nuts!
