When do you take Christmas decorations down?

Inside was done New Years Day. Outside will be done by Jan 7, as I'm taking those down a little at a time. HOA wants the outside down by the 15th.

In my old age I have given up on all of it. Christmas used to mean something to me, it no longer does. The only thing Christmas brings is massive expense when you spend huge amount to buy gifts for people that you barely tolerate, things that they really didn't want with money you don't really have and as the elder in the family get almost nothing in return. I guess I taught them all that it is not the receiving but the giving, so they let me give. When I witness the hypocrisy that Christmas has become it makes me disgusted and no longer desire to be a part of it.

I have done minor acknowledgement decorations in the past but this year I skipped the whole thing and just was actually happy that I didn't have to put anything away. Past memories of Christmas only serve to make me depressed. I miss feeling excited and all the activity that went with it, but as I have aged, it all just becomes a lonely time and look forward to it being over for another year.

I put everything away the 30th and 31st - I decorate Thanksgiving weekend and after a month I like it clean for New Years Day

We took the tree down last week. We would usually leave it up well into January, but it was dropping needles like crazy and the puppy wanted to pee behind it so we took it down as soon as we could after Christmas.

I took everything down over the weekend and I took down the outside lights yesterday since it was such a mild day.

We usually leaves outside lights up for a week after NY, but it was in the 50s yesterday and not raining so we took them down. Inside will stay up until weekend so the DGS can "help" me take them down. They all help putting them up. I have mostly white kitchen cabinets. The kids put up window clings on them, same with fridge and dishwasher. Windows get those jelly things. Plus I have a wall tree. It's a tree made of command strips clips , garland and lights. Kids put up plastic balls and crafts they have made over the years. Same with garland draped between door ways.

We have lights on the front overhang (not really a porch) and we leave them up until sometime in March. I love how they look.

We have no other decorations.

Normally, it's around New Years' Day or so, but this year, we got on a roll on New Years' Eve day and got them pretty much all taken down and put away. I got the outside lights down yesterday, as it was rainy on New Years Day.

This would be a cool poll to see.

Ours go down on 1/2 every year.

Working on it this week. DH is recovering from surgery so the outside decorations will be a problem to take care of. I did part of the inside yesterday and will try to do more today. The older I get the longer it takes. I am also sorting through what I have and marking some for the yard sale. Time to downsize since it is only us and the dogs. Family is not what it used to be due to issues.

I used to sing in the local Episcopal choir and decorate until Epiphany. Since my parents are gone and both familes are widely disbursed outside of FL my spouse and I decided to start a new tradition and went to the MK for Christmas this year. I decided to let Disney do the Magic and decorate and undecorate for us this year 8-)

I thought the 'rule' was before Epiphany on the 6th of January (Topsy Turvy Day :D )
Which is the 12th day after Christmas.
My minister friends on Facebook are posting......UNTIL the Epiphany, not BEFORE.

Not until Christmas is over. And I'll probably procrastinate after that.
