Well, I don't suppose we're going to Disney for world-class dining anyhow. Chef Mickey's is all about the kids seeing the characters. My DS7 and DD7 have been on two Disney cruises and done plenty of character interaction, so they could probably take it or leave it. But their 5 and 4 year old cousins are beside-themselves-excited and it will be a real thrill for them.
Everyone has a breaking point, Disney knows it. It's about balance with any business anyway. We finally reached ours. I dearly hope so. We LOVED going for the characters, but there finally came a point (for us) that when we left hungry and got no drink refills (barely saw our server), that meals for a hundred and a half or more are just not worth it anymore. I don't expect world-class dining (I don't think anyone does), just something a little better than Old Country Buffet and servers and characters less rushed.
