When do you start packing?

I have my ziploc bags of essentials (thootbrush, shampoo, comb, brush etc.) and i put some peanut butter in a small pot. I have canned pâté for the mornings too (liver pâté, tomato-ham-bacon, ham, sandwich). My sister and i love savory breakfast, no sweet in The morning. We Will bring Frozen bread in a shoe box in my luggage. All is declared at costums.

1 mounth before i start checking my packing list.

1 week before i put all The stuff in my luggage and backup in my backpack.

1 day before i put all my medecines in my backpack, my iPad charger, my iPad, my camera and The battery charger + an extension cord.

At 40 days out here. I've already began gathering things like medicine, sunscreen, tolietries, tracking down chargers for cameras, getting new cards for cameras, etc. I will start going through clothes to see what I need to get at about 30 out. Then at about 15 out I will do a dry run with my suitcase. Then the night before I will be running around the house like a mad woman trying to find what where I put the stuff I am getting together now. LoL.

I'm having planning withdrawals. All reservations are made (FP+, package, ADRs, special events). I've done online check-in. I have 54 days to go. Is it too soon to start packing?
We left last Thursday at 1:30 PM. I started packing three hours before we left.

I usually go to bed around 10, start packing around 9 the night before the trip and usually go ahead and put the suitcase in the car (I drive down) the little carry on that holds laptop, other electronics and driving snacks goes in the car in the morning. I don't make lists, we have a "travel" shelf in our closet that has travel size things, extra glasses, etc and we keep two toiletry hanging bags packed at all times, in case DH needs to make a last minute work trip or I get in the mood for a quick weekend trip. I just kind of stand in my closet and pull things out that look interesting.

Since we are leaving as soon as DH gets off work, I will pack the day of and DH will pack the night before.

I personally don't own 54 pairs of underwear! :rotfl2:

A few days ahead is fine for us...

Count me in for the whole staging area method. We are 140 days out, and I have a smallish box started. This trip will be more difficult because the kids won't know until 30 days out. So, I can't really begin staging until then.

I start packing a month before.

But I am already looking at bits when I'm out shopping and considering buying them. Over the next year I will be putting things aside that I am taking ( not clothes )

I am 14 ish months away from travel!!! Yes I am crazy :scared1:

I have the same problem as you however my children won't know until the day we go. We have a small house so I have no idea where I am going to put the cases for packing :confused3

I must be really insane! My suitcase was never put away from the last trip in Nov 2014. As soon as I booked this upcoming trip in January, I opened the suitcase and have been putting things in it ever since... buying a little at a time. I now have most of my clothes packed and travel essentials too! So I started packing months ago, but I just can't help it! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

2 days, and there is 5 of us. Other than 1 year forgetting DS swim trunks, haven't forgot anything else.

My kids are really used to seeing clean baskets of laundry yet to be folded or put away.... That would be a perfect in plain sight disguise! Hahahahahah!!!:rotfl2:

The day before. And that's everything. Suitcases up from basement, clothes picked and packed. Honestly, for us, to start any earlier just means need things packed away or put aside already. We have become pretty efficient at this after the last 11 trips or so, LOL.

Lol. The good thing about this is everyone in my house gets new underwear right before vacation, because none of us wants to go on vacay with "holy drawers" hahaha (Actually, DH and DS probably could care less, but I get them new ones anyway) :)

So I started picking up snacks and such. We're driving, so don't have to worry much about luggage weight and size. Got the luggage out and ready to pack. Started putting in swimsuits, trunks, shorts, tanks, etc. Still wearing shorts here, but not as much. Instead of packing them away for winter, I'm putting the ones we're going to wear at WDW in suitcases.

Now that the paper planning is done, I recommend the physical planning starts. Buy your new for walking/running shoes and start to walk around the neighborhood to break them in and get your physical endurance up. You'll be walking about 7-15 miles per day on your WDW trip, start small at home and get the "I never use these muscles" soreness over with before your there.

DH starts pulling his stuff out a few days in advance and packs his stuff the night before we leave. I pack my stuff and toiletries the night before.
