I don't go vacation to wdw until August and I see myself picking things up and putting them away. I was wondering if I was the only person that starts so early?

:banana::banana::banana:

I have one small suitcase I dont unpack. Has our rain ponchos, water/fan bottle, citronella candle, and a few other items. I normally start putting stuff aside about a month prior to. During the year I pick up some Disney items for my DD as her welcome goody bag from Cinderella.

I also have one small suitcase that stays packed with all my travel needs. If I feel I need something for an upcoming trip I buy it and pack it away in there. As far as clothes go, I pack the day before.

i got my cases out the other day yippee going to start buying bits we go 25th august just cant wait :dance3:

LOL... we go in 17 days, and we are starting today. Washing and packing the kids summer clothes today, maybe ours as well. We have two containers that are almost full of snacks, so we don't need to get them through Garden Grocer, and hopefully save some money!

I made my packing list a couple months ago... just never started anything yet. If we start too early, it makes it feel like the trip is taking sooooo long... so we wait til its closer.

First aid kit is always packed

Small bag w/ponchos, sunscreen, bug spray, etc always packed for camping/trips.

I usually pack 2 days ahead (so the day before can be devoted to final housecleaning--I hate coming home to a dirty house--laundry, etc). But this trip I'm packing the day ahead, because we are Cub Scout camping the weekend before (Friday-Sunday night) and I have to wash and pack the clothes Monday (leaving Tuesday am).

I am glad that I am not the only one, my husband is always saying you pick what up and we are not leaving until August.

We go in June and I've started buying things here and there that we will need, over the last couple of weeks. I have a big luggage bag that I've been hiding that stuff in for now (kids don't know about the trip!). But not actually packing yet, I will though as soon as I have everything I need!!! :laughing:

We are going in Mid June for our first time and we are staying off site at a townhouse. So I have been buying some essentials like laundry detergent, grocery items, and fun stuff too like glow bracelets and necklaces. I have a small laundry basket and rubbermaid tote slowly filling up. I love the dollar stores and the dollar spot at Target. They have helped with shampoo, toothpaste and even suntan lotion in small bottles for the parks.

My DH thinks I'm a little nuts but I don't care. If I left it to him he would pack some clothes and buy the rest when we got down there. I'm trying to stick to a budget!

Less than 3 months now!!! YAY!!!!! :cool1:

Glad to know I'm not the only crazy one! ;) I started buying stuff as I saw it for cheap a few months ago, but nothing is really packed yet. A week ago I started buying snacks, I figure if I get 2-3 things each grocery trip I won't have to set a separate budget for snacks to take with us. I've got those few things in a walmart bag in the garage. About a week ago I got out my girls' clothes to make sure we had everything for them that we need. I'll start packing for real probably a week before the trip. Hard to get anything done with 2 toddlers running around, so I try to give myself plenty of time!

I keep a suitcase at the ready year round. We go about 3-4 times a year so I keep the "must-haves" in the suitcase in the closet or nearby on a shelf out of the reach of the dog. My first trip this year is in just over 2 weeks, its a short one and we are flying down so packing is a bit different from when I drive. When I drive I throw in the car whatever I want and what I feel we may need for a week at WDW. I also keep a checklist that I modify for each trip (duration and time of year are contributing factors on what goes on the list). Always check weather.com once the 10-day planner covers your trip so you can get an idea of what to expect and that can also help to plan the appropriate wardrobe.:banana:
