When do YOU start decorating?

I enjoy pumpkins, gourds, corn shocks, pilgrims, etc. so I enjoy the Thanksgiving season first, THEN comes Christmas!! I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. This year I decided to take the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving off from work so I'll have two full days at home to do my decorating, put the tree up, and listen to Christmas music. Really looking forward to it.

Seriously... I'm going nuts here! I am so in need of that good Christmas spirit! :goodvibes I'm ready to put up the tree and all the Christmas decorations but everyone says I'm nuts for wanting to do so, so early. Christmas always just makes me feel so warm inside, and I'm ready to feel that again. Putting up the three, getting out the ornaments, stringing lights... YEAH! Bring it on!!

So when do you decorate for Christmas? Do you decorate for Thanksgiving first, or does it all go into a lumped holiday season for you?

I started last night. I'm going to have surgery very soon and I'll be laid up for awhile. I didn't want the kids not to have their normal Christmas thiings up.

Normally I start on Thanksgiving Day.

I wait until after Thanksgiving, remember that holiday?

ETA: Thanksgiving just seems to becoming a forgotten holiday, that's all.

I'll probably start putting the decorations up after thanksgiving.

We decorate on the Friday after Thanksgiving while everyone else is shopping :teeth: . Christmas decorations, music, movies, and TV commercials before Thanksgiving are like nails on a chalkboard to me. YMMV ;)

The day after Thanksgiving our decorations start going up.

We don't put our tree (real) up until about the 9th or 10th of December, depending.

Usually I wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate. . . . but my fiance and I just moved into a new apartment, and the boxes with Christmas decorations are just sitting there, staring at me right now. So I think I might decorate a little early this year.

I figure, why the heck not! I am not going to put the boxes away, just to dig them out again in a couple of weeks. . thats just silly!!

I don't have to cook on Thanksgiving since we go to DH's aunt's house. We spend that morning pulling all the Christmas stuff out and the rest of the weekend putting it all up (think Griswold type lights ... :rotfl2: )

I ususally start 2 weeks before Christmas. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do this year and what items I need to buy.

Traditionally, we decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but I am really fighting the urge to do it earlier this year. My reasoning is that we will be at WDW for 10 days of the holiday season, and not home to enjoy our own decor so we should put it up a little early to make up for that. We also usually purchase a real tree, but will be using an artificial one (for the above reason) and don't have to worry about it drying out too early. Oh, and we bought a bunch of Disney decorations on our last trip that I'm looking forward to putting out too! :) I figure I'll last until the weekend before Thanksgiving...then it's all coming out!
