do you think they work ?

I got mine 2 weeks ago, really not sure if it works all that good

The only time I didn't get the flu shot is the year I got the flu. I feel like they do work. That being said, I haven't found the time to get mine yet.

Never. I got it a couple times from work when it was almost mandatory, but haven't gotten one in a long time.

Usually whenever if fits my schedule to get to the doctor's office (no cost there).

I think they work.

I only started getting the flu shot about 5 years ago. I only had the flu once as an adult about 20 years ago, but I started cruising 7 years ago (usually long cruises), I figured, if I'm going to be spending an extended period of time in an enclosed environment with over 2000 of my new best friends, I'd better be prepared.

The flu shot effectiveness varies. Depending on how well they guess (since they have to make that call over a year ahead of time) what strains to put in it. They typically only put 4-5 strains in there, and if they aren't the ones that are dominate that year, they are less effective.

I got mine on Oct 1, which is a bit early for me. I usually get it later in Oct or early Nov. I've been getting flu shots for40 years and am convinced they work, hence the 40-year streak.

I got mine October 1st because that was the date of the clinic held by my provider. I work in childcare, so it's a must for me. I've had the flu twice (when I didn't get the shot), and it is AWFUL.

Started getting them in 2005 when I could get them for free at work. Got this year's 2 weeks ago.
I haven't had the flu since I started getting the shots, HOWEVER, I probably only had the flu 2 or 3 times in the 20 or so years before I started getting flu shots best I can recall. I worked overnights for 25 years, and while that does cause sleep issues for some, it did not for me, and since staffing so at a minimum on graveyard shift, I think not being around a lot of people reduced by risk of exposure to the flu.

Got my first ever flu shot a few weeks ago. I never had the flu before, but during a routine doctor's visit, he insisted I get one. I'm pretty sure my insurance covers it, so no cost.

why not dont you believe they work ?

It was the only year in my adult life that I actually got the flu. My husband's friend actually died from the flu shot (a police officer). I've researched it extensively since and it appears the flu shot is never the right strain for the current time.

I'll take my chances now, no matter how much the doctors push it.

Today-mandatory for work-never had the flu-never had a reaction from the vaccine

wow, some compelling evidence there

I got mine last weekend. I think they work. I didn't get one for several years and got really sick every flu season. The last few years I've had the shot I haven't had a bad case of the flu. I've been mildly sick, but nothing like before.

DDs pediatrician doesn't believe in the flu shot and won't give it. We get ours done at Rite Aid.

It happens. I'm not anti-vaccine however when this happens close to home, you think twice. I haven't had the flu since contracting it immediately after the vaccine (12 years ago) so I'm going to take my chances from now on. My husband, on the other hand is required to have the shot and still gets the flu approx every 2 or 3 years.

I get the flu shot but Im not sure of it, but would like to add the flu most often is like a bad cold, not throwing up and pooping, some people think that is the only thing that is a flu

Someone comes to our office once a year to administer the shot, so I am getting it next week. The company I work for pays for it. I don't think I've ever had the flu, but I am a strong believer in vaccines so I get them when they are offered.

I never get it. I know people swear that the flu shot doesn't give you the flu, but I have only had the flu twice in 57 years and it was both years I had a flu shot. I was so sick, I never want to get the flu again, so I pass on the shot.
