When do you buy your AP vouchers?

I'm so ready to start planning my spring trip - it's been far too long since we've been to WDW! We're planning on multiple trips in 2014 and this year it will make more sense to buy APs - something we've never done before.

When would you buy your vouchers for a May trip?

What else do I need to know about APs that I may not know yet?

Prices go up every June, and the last few years I believe there was a price bump in December as well (I know there was for DLR, not 100% that there was for WDW).

So the answer is, get 'em sooner if you want 'em at the cheapest. Its highly unlikely that they'll run the $399 DVC PAP special again.

If I don't have one, I usually buy one as soon as I hear about a price increase. My last one was the DVC PAP promo, I'm activating it next Sunday so I'm good for next year. I also alternate with Disneyland, so my next one will probably be DL.

Another question....the year starts when you activate it right? not when you purchase it? If so, once you purchase, how long can you take to activate it?

The year will start when you activate the voucher or will call #. There's no time limit.

Thanks for the info. That's what I thought. So, if I purchase I could in theory wait a couple of years to activate? (When they had the special offering this last year there was a time limit though, right?)

Don't forget if you are doing fast pass + you will need to have your voucher take your selections

Voucher number and not AP number, right? So I wouldn't have to activate 60 days ahead of my trip in order to make my FP+ reservations, right?

(I'm so confused on the whole AP thing!)

We bought DVC exchange certificates and non-expiration tickets from a discount broker with vacation savings money a couple of years ago.

We decided that since we do WDW a couple of times per year, buying in advance at the then current price made sense. We have around 10 years worth of admissions.
