Is the a general time that crowds start to let up later in the day, in summer at the parks or do they stay busy until closing?

We were at Typhoon Lagoon last Monday. (Monday is a great day to do water parks!) The closing time was 8pm. By 3pm there were hardly any waits for slides, plenty of lounge chairs available (in shade and sun), and lazy river was much less crowded. We left at 5 and the crowds were very sparse by then.

Yeah, when the daily storm comes in. Not such a great strategy in the stormy season unfortunately. Well, I guess you could get lucky and not have a storm that day until later.

I would say between 2 and 3 for those that get there at opening. The afternoon thunderstorms will thin the crowd even faster.

1) Usually between 2:00pm-3:0pm things start to get slower.
2) People start leaving to get back to the hotel, shower, and leave for dinner.
3) others leave because they look like "prunes" after 506 hours in the water.
4) Or, they got so sunburned because they didn't bring MAX-UV suntan lotion. *

* My good friend's son works at Typhoon, and he talks about the "beets" (sunburned guests) who gingerly walk and shuffle from the water park in the afternoon. Remember folks, the Florida sun in more brutal than the Northern Sun, and "winter white skin" gets burned quickly.
