When do waitlist wishes typically get granted?

We arrive in two weeks and have a split stay (BLT and AKLV). We are waitlisted at AKLV for the concierge level and in the meantime are booked in a 1br savannah view. I am COMPLETELY happy with the 1br savannah view, but the relative who is giving us his points insists we HAVE to stay concierge like he did (he really loved it) so he booked the savannah room but waitlisted us for the concierge.

When do the waitlists tend to get fulfilled if at all? Are they more likely to ecome available super close to your arrival day or not at all? Just wondering what the chances are that we are going to show up to check in and be told we're staying concierge?

If someone cancels, your waitlist may be fulfilled granted there is no one ahead of you. But there are just a handful of concierge rooms.

There are a max of 5 - 1 bedroom CL Level rooms, less if someone booked a 2 bedroom which is a studio and attached 1 bedroom.

What are the odds of someone canceling in a 1 bedroom for the same days that you need. Not very likely I'm afraid.

We've had two waitlists and neither one ever happened. So my answer to your question is NEVER.

There are two different waitlists. One for up to 30 days out; the other for up to seven days out. Once the first waitlist expires, you must request to be on the other waitlist. Once you are seven days out and there is no waitlist, you have to call or check online every day to see if it comes available.

We've done this several times as we typically are wait listing for something taking up more points than what we have (i.e., this time it's BWV reserved wait listed for BLT theme park view). Therefore, we're not worried about points to holding and just do the 7-day wait list from the start.

this worked out for us, we asked for 7 days out & got it. Actually needed one night less than seven days, called & it came through so we didn't have to do the split say.

We got our waitlist at AKV Kidani within 2 weeks of making the request. But we were waitlisting for a studio which I know is much easier to get then a CL one bdrm. We also went with friends who wait listed a reservation and it never came through so it depends on what you are looking for and timing of reservation.

Meh. No biggie. I am positive we'll love the 1br Savannah view. It's DH's uncle who's disappointed the waitlist didn't come through. Go figure?

I have been a member for 16 years but never had to use a wait list until about 5 years ago. The wait lists have happened naturally but I have also got my wait list when I called MS. THis has happened more than once.

There's a lot of movement on/off waitlists right at the 7 month mark. I understand the AK CLs fill up almost immediately at 11 months. Anyone who has an AKCL reservation mostly likely has been planning the trip for almost a year. If someone cancelled an AKV Concierge two weeks before arrival, knowing that their points go into holding, it's because they lost their job, a death in the family or some equally unfortunate event.
