When do they put up the Christmas Decorations

Hi just wondering when the Christmas decorations get put up at Disney World. Do they change the MK parade to add in a Christmas theme. Thanks for your help. i really want to go when when the Christmas decorations are up and not too crowded. Saving really hard right now. Each bit we save I say well now we can afford another day at Disney or a 3 day pass keeps us motivated.

I'm going Dec 3-11th and was told by a Disney TA that it is a wonderful time of year to visit, decorations up and crowds not yet arrived. Not sure when everything goes up but you could go to the disney website and e-mail them...they are very helpful. Good luck with your planning!

The decorations start to go up at Thanksgiving. By the Sunday after, they are all in place. Not sure about the parade, though.

Do they change the MK parade to add in a Christmas theme.

They do have a Christmas parade that is exclusive to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. From what I understand, after the last night of the party then they put that parade into the parks. I think it is usually around the middle of the month when that happens.

We were there this past Nov the week before Thanksgiving and the resorts had most of the decorations up. Everytime we went somewhere that week more were going up. By the time we left ( weekend before Thanksgiving) I think most were up in the parks also.

We went to MGM the weekend before Thanksgiving and they had all the decorations in place. Thanksgiving weekend, we stayed at POR and ALL the decorations were up, and instead of Disney music pumped throughout WDW it was 24 hours of Christmas music. That Saturday we went to the Tree Lighting ceremony at Epcot and visited Santa at the American paviolion, and listened to the Candlelight processional. Also, MGM's Spectacle was in full swing! It was crowded, but we had FUN!!!
