When do they decorate MK for MNSSHP?

We will be having an early dinner in MK at CP (5:10 p.m.) on October 6, which is a MNSSHP night (we are not attending the party). When do they start transforming the park for the party? I'm wondering when we leave CP, will some of the decorations, etc. be obvious to my children, causing them to want to stay for the party? I had originally thought the party started at 6:00 p.m., but I found this morning on the sticky thread that it doesn't start until 7:00 p.m. Do they wait until park closing at 6:00 p.m. before they start preparing for MNSSHP? TIA!

They start from 4:00p on but the biggest transformation will be after dark between 6:00p and 7:00p.

It's amazing! I LOVE Main Street's decorations/lights and the music too!

FYI...they also have ghost lights going up the Castle from time to time! Way cool.
