When do the stores on the Ship first open?

We are getting on the Magic the day before Easter. I was curious if I could shop on Saturday, the day we depart, for some Easter goodies. Anyone know if the stores open once the ship starts sailing on Saturday, the first day?

I believe the boat has to be in International waters before they can open the stores. I would think that within a few hours of sailing you would find them open.

Does this apply to the shop that sells Disney merchandise also? I wanted to buy new autograph books that say Disney Cruise on them, and since I hear the time to see the most characters is at the sail away party....I'll need to buy them asap. Does anyone know if they sell these, or any other place you can get them? I would love it because they have one from Disneyland and one from Disneyworld, the cruise one would add to their collection!

Some friends of mine just went on the cruise in February and were dissappointed that the autograph books on the cruise are the same ones as WDW. There were no special cruise autograph books

Ashley 24......There is alot of DISNEY stuff .....but no Easter things...i was hoping to do the same last year and was disappointed.

Even if the items aren't Easter related, I would still like to pick up a few cute little items like the Mickey shaped gummy snacks. Does anyone know if the store is open on the first night on a seven day cruise???? Someone has to be a big shopper and know the answer to this question!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I recall correctly last October on our 7 night the shops opened the first night on ship ( Saturday) at around 6 pm.

If I remember correctly bettemom is correct and the shops open around 6pm that first night. They can not open while the ship is in port, so I think they just set 6pm as an safe opening time. Although there are plenty of characters at the sail away party I don't think they are available for autographs because they are dancing on stage. There are plenty of opportunities during the cruise to get pictures and autographs, especially before dinner every night. We also had pillow cases and picture frames signed by the characters. We just turned these into guest services and asked that they get them signed and we picked them up later in the week.

Mickey's Mate, Treasure Ketch, Preludes Snacks and Up Beat open 6:00 - 12:00pm the first night out on the Magic.
