When do the southern schools start summer break?

I Know they let out before we do(late
June for NJ). I'm thinking it's around mid may. We arrive on May 9th and I'm hoping for a sweet spot between crowds. I think the class trips will be done already and we are there until the 18th when Star Wars weekends start. Maybe we will get lucky and the crowds will be in the lighter side. Our last 5 trips have been overwhelmingly crowded. Maybe this will be the one!!

We live in Kentucky (which I guess some people consider the south) and our kids last day is June 3.

I'm in KY-further south than NJ, not as far south as you may be asking for....schools around me are not out until the 2nd week of June due to all of the snow days.

We are going 5/2-5/10 also hoping for not bad crowds, but I'm not sure such a thing really exists any more.

We are in Texas. My daughter's private school gets out on May 23. The public schools around here get out on May 30.

We live in SC and schools around here are anywhere from the end of May to the end of the first week of June.

North Carolina is 2nd week of June. There are some exceptions but most are 2nd week.

We live in Arkansas. Our school gets out June 4. My sister-n-laws boys get out before Memorial Day. They live in a different region of Arkansas.

I think you'll miss the bulk of the crowds. The private schools in our area don't get out until mid-May. We had a lot of snow this year too which pushes days back.

Mississippi and we get out May 22.......just in time for the 24 hour event! We only had a couple of snow days and they were built into the school year.

I think you're going to be perfectly fine with those dates.

Last day for Palm Beach County, Florida is June 5 for students, June 6 for teachers.

We're from Texas, usually end of May, but we are extended to June 3 for cold weather makeup days! Crazy!!!!

Our schools last day is Friday, May 23. We used to get out earlier than that but they started getting a full week fall break in October. I live in East TN, there are several different school systems in our area and I think most of them are getting out around that time. I think some of the Virginia schools (we live near the border) are going until the first week of June because of snow days.

We are in a suburb of New Orleans. We get out May 23.

My Mom works at a school just south of Tampa. Their last day for students is 6/6. We live in south eastern NC and the last day for my kids is 6/13.

Central Alabama dismiss around 5/24 or after, but we had lots of snow days. Many schools are holding kids as late as 6/3.

Anytime before 5/17 should be great. I'd imagine you'll only deal with a few college kids done with exams. Generally they finish here around 5/10.
