We are planning a trip next year, either November or December 2013. My original plan of the week after Thanksgiving isn't going to work out because of my husbands job, so we are either going to go the second week of November, before Thanksgiving, or the 2nd week of December. I'm assuming December would be more crowded? My preference would be November, but will the holiday decor all be up? Also...has there ever been FD during November? We are PRAYING that it comes out for our dates next year, I'm actually kind of stressing about it already:sad2: as my husband doesn't want to do WDW without the FD promo. We did the FD last year during Halloween and it saved us a TON of $$. We just got back from Disneyland last week, and most of our money was spent on food(there are 6 of us). The FD plan is the only way to go for us!

It's my understanding that decoration start going up Thanksgiving week...???

I guess I'll find out soon :cheer2:

We have usually gone the first/ second week of December and LOVE it!!!!
Decorations are up but crowds are down.
Weather has always been perfect (t-shirt/ shorts during the day, maybe a jacket or swaetshirt once the sun goes down.

Look up when you are walking you will see they already going up!

The first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is on the 9th of November, so all the Magic Kingdom decorations will up by then.

Yes, I also want to know the answer to this question. I know Osborne lights are up until January 6 but what about the rest of the decorations?

I think they typically go up around Veterans day week, 2nd week of Nov. Not sure if that varies if Vet day is one or two weeks before Thanksgiving week.

The Christmas decorations practically start going up the day after the Halloween decoration come down - or within a few days. The Christmas parties usually start around November 8 or 9, so MK is totally decorated by then and the rest of the parks and resorts are decorated within a week after the Christmas party start date.

Free dining has been offered for select slow weeks in November and December since 2008. The second week of december will have low crowds and the Candlelight Processional and Holidays around the World at Epcot will be going on by the. If you go before Thanksgiving, you would miss those holiday events.

The Osborne Lights actually end on January 4, 2013, and the holiday decorations will start to come down the next day.

Wait, what? Where are they going up already? In the parks or resorts?
They start hanging the Osbourne Lights in August at DHS and start hanging the Castle Lights in September. It takes a long time and hundreds of man hours to get those ready for public viewing.

When I did the Keys to Kingdom tour they told us they start putting up the lights August/September. But the color is disgused against the building so you don't notice it.

They said it takes months to put up all the lights throughout Disney.

Honestly, you can hardly even notice the Christmas decorations.. at least we didn't, and we were there right before Christmas.
Based on all the talk here, I expected a lot more..

I'm confused - Osborne Lights are up till 1/6/13, so does that mean the resorts will remain decorated through then as well? Or do the decorations come down overnight on the 4th, so they're gone on the 5th? The 5th is a Saturday, and I was really hoping to see some of the resorts during the day and Osborne Lights that evening. :confused3
