When do schools start - hoping crowds will diminish!!!

I know many southern schools will start soon - some next week. I'm hoping that will somewhat reduce the big crowds lately. Opinions please??

I doubt that our schools here would have an impact on crowd levels but we do live in Fl even if it is the northwestern-most part of it. Our schools started back on Aug. 2nd. It is my understanding that a lot of schools are starting back earlier this year. Our district has gotten earlier each year.

NC and this year they changed the law and we can't start until August 25th, we used to start Aug 5thish

A drop in crowd levels is barely noticeable, if at all until the 3rd and 4th week of August. And this year, with free dining kicking in and many schools in the NorthEast still on summer break, I wouldn't expect to see much of a drop in crowd levels that second half of August either. Still, hte second half shouldn't be as insane as July has been. This coming week however will be very busy. Theme park attendance is up across the board in Central Florida, and I have a suspicion that Disney is doing better than the other parks this year with Magical Express and the packages that they're offering. It's been very, very crowded since the middle of June. Still, you'll have a wonderful time, just plan on arriving at the parks very early, and avoid the EMH evening parks like the plague. And stay hydrated!!
