When do PSAT scores come out?

I know that PSAT scores come out in December, but does anybody know when exactly?

How Score Reports Are Delivered

Score reports are mailed to your high school principal in December. Each school decides how and when to distribute the scores to students. PSAT/NMSQT scores are not available by phone or online. Go to Score Report Plus for more information about score reports.

If you're a home schooled student, your PSAT/NMSQT score report is sent directly to your home address. On the test day, when completing the basic information on the answer sheet, be sure to enter your state's home school code in the "school code" section. The test supervisor will provide this for you.

Additional copies of your score report can be obtained from your counselor. Your school is responsible for distributing and retaining your PSAT/NMSQT scores.

So do schools get them at different times, or do they all get them a the same time?

I had an appointment today with my daughter's guidance counselor, and I asked her about PSAT scores. DD16, a junior in high school, is going to be homeschooled after this semester, and I wanted to be sure to get her scores.

The guidance counselor told me that the school had received the scores a few days ago, and will release them as soon as they get them all in order, whatever that means. She said they had to release them all at the same time, and we should be getting the scores either the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I don't know if all schools follow the same time frame.

Last year, they were distributed in mid December. I think that they will probably come very soon.

I don't know about DD's HS, but in my day/school, PSAT scores were presented as part of a package-PSAT score+gpa+class percentile=you should be looking at these categories of colleges.

Our school system does not do class rank. It's kind of odd.

Ours was weird-it was a bar graph of GPA's, and showed where you were ranked (it was a highly competive HS).

Last year, the school apparently made an announcement and distributed them at the end of the school day.

My DD asked her HS Counselor today about the PSAT scores and he said they had not received them yet. I think when they do, they will make an announcement and the kids have to go to the Counseling Office to get them.

I just hope they get them by the start of Winter Break next Wednesday.

I received notice last week that the HS had received the scores and were going to call all the sophmores together on the 19th to hand them out and go over them.

We received DS's but he's a sophomore so I am not sure if they do anything differently at the junior level.

My DS is a sophomore, too, but he hasn't heard a word. I was just making sure I hadn't missed a piece of mail or something, but it sounds like lots of other people haven't gotten them yet, either. He gets interims on Friday, so maybe they'll send them home then.
