When do points expire?

I have never traveled in the same month as my use year, so have never had to deal with this, but when exactly do your points expire? It is on the first day of the month or the last day? I am looking to travel in December of 2010 and will have some December 2009 points left over. If they expire on December 31st, then I will be fine. If not, then I guess I'll need to bank them to be used for any time after December 1st. Thanks.

December use year runs from Dec 1 to Nov 30 (all use years start on the first of a month and end on the last day of the month immediately preceding the beginning of the next use year). Points must be used for a trip during that time unless banked. To use Dec 09 points for a Dec 2010 trip requires that they be banked.

So am I correct that the 2008 points Dec UY I just got for buying in, and that I banked, have to be used by Nov 30th 2010?

Correct...your banked Dec 2008 points became Dec 2009 points. They, like your other Dec 2009 points expire on Nov 30th 2010.

With the only difference being that you can't bank them again. (you can bank your regular allotment of 2009 points though).
