When do have that feeling that you've arrived?

I have three, when I first drive up and see the WDW welcome arch, then when I check in to WL, and last, when I am in my room and turn the tv to the "What's happening in the parks today" channel:D

Walking down Main Street and see the clock with the time to the left and hear nothing, the crowds or people speaking, only the music.....ahhhhh!

It starts by rolling down the windows to get some of that Florida air that smells so different from the air up here in KY.

Then it really hits me that I'm in the magic when I smell all of the different smells in the hotel or the parks!

I especially come to life when I smell alll of the wonderful scents on mainstreet U.S.A.

I get excited following the exit signs off of the highway, but when we drive through the gates I definitley know I'm there. Gosh I love that feeling!!

When getting on the MCO monorail and hearing the same guys voice thats on the WDW monorail!

There is something about seeing the Walt Disney World sign it just giving me chills.... and to top it off with walking into the Magic Kingdom and seeing the castle.

Oh, those beautiful signs! That's what does it for me too, seeing the WDW signs.

We drive down from Kentucky, so the anticipation builds gradually throughout the trip. But once I see those signs, I know I'm really there!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think I get gradually overwhelmed...

- The Florida heat/humidity when we step off the plane
- The big WDW sign
- The friendly CMs when checking in to the hotel
- Seeing the entrance gates at whichever park we go to first

Oddly enough, the one thing that has almost always 'relaxed' me when we're at WDW is the Clam Bake buffet at Cape May Cafe - before this happens I'm usually all 'commando' but after can almost be called 'laid back'.

Once I see those purple road signs...I know I'm there!

Once we check in, find our room and head for the pool! It is great to leave Boston in the cold, and a few hours later we're splashing around at our resort!

I know at that point, all the planning, saving, etc. has been worth it.

I love to take the earliest flight I can get out of PHL to my husband's DISLIKE. So when I get up at 3 am the morning of departure and see all our luggage lined up ready to go, I start getting VERY excited.

But...........

I have to get through the 2 hour and 20 minute flight (I hate flying).

Once we hit the tarmac in Orlando, I relax again.

Then it's those signs....I have two favorites.

1. The "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign that greets me with Mickey and Minnie and

2. The sign for the Magic Kingdom as you go through the tolls. That's why I've managed to stay at MK resorts my last 4 trips. LOL!

I also love walking into the MK for the first time and seeing the posters for all the attractions, smelling the popcorn and hearing the "All Aboard!!!!" from the train!

There are just so many wonderful things to look forward to! I reall cannot wait!

The last time we went to WDW, I began to get thrilled when we got onto the tram car.

Over the years, my daughters and my wife
and I realize that we're there when we go
by the very small sign that says that Orange
County is no longer maintaining the road -to
my girls, it means that we're on Mickey's
Highway!!!!

And by that time, both girls, even the 15yr old
start bouncing up and down in the car!!!
We'll be back in August, this time at OKW, and
I can't wait!!!!

The first thing is entering the monorail at MCO. We know we have arrived. Next, getting our passes at the check-in desk at the Polynesian makes us feel that we belong. And finally, when we enter the "Battle Room" at POTC, we realize that our week of "Magic" has just started.

if we're driving - the first disney billboard we see, we know we're getting closer! when we drive under the arches, we beep the horn and yell and scream.

if we fly, as soon as we step off the plane!

My family feels like we have arrived when we see the main gate on our way to the resort. Our 18 month old says, "MICKEY MOUSE......DUCK.......GOOFY!

We will be in the MAGIC again on May 29!
