When do go to Cape May?

Currently we have a dinner reservation at Cape May on our Epcot Day, with lunch at Le Cellier. Epcot is our FAVORITE park, so now I'm wondering if we should change Cape May to a non-park day or the day we go to AK since it closes early? I guess I just don't want to miss too much time at Epcot, plus there are so many great places to eat in Epcot and we'll be there just the one day. Whereas, we don't need a park ticket to go to Cape May to eat. I know I'm over thinking this. Some more details, we will be staying at AKL and will most likely have a rental car. Also, Epcot is open until midnight the day we plan to go so we should have plenty of time. I guess I'm just wondering how much time to allow to walk to CM, eat dinner and walk back to Epcot? I believe our ADR is for around 7 pm, in August if that makes any difference. Thanks for any advice!

IMO, Le Cellier and Cape May in the same day is a lot of food. Sounds good though, two of my favorites!

We love AKL. It is our home DVC resort. I would suggest eating at CMC on a non-Epcot day if you already have reservations in Epcot. If you do keep them, the walk is very short. Exit through the International Gateway of the World Showcase and The Beach Club is a few hundred yards away. Less than a 5 minute walk.

I made my Cape May ressies on my AK day, I knew we would be back in plenty of time. Our Epcot day is reserved for Le Cellier, we eat a decent breakfast (we have a villa, so pancakes, bacon egg sandwich) and then we make our ressie for about 6pm. We don't do ph's because we try to do too much, so we usually don't leave a park, of course, we can go back to that park, but don't usually do that either, so since it doesn't require a park ticket to get there we usually eat there on AK day or nonpark day. So, you aren't overthinking it. I don't think you can overthink planning at DW. If you don't plan, you may be left out of something you wanted to do. Anyway, have fun on your trip.

I agree with you - I don't like losing travel time to leave a Theme Park to eat dinner. It is a short walk from Epcot out International Gateway, so you don't lose a lot of time. But, I really did not enjoy Cape May dinner buffet, so I may not return because of the food. I really like seafood, and it was just not as good as other seafood restaurants. I compared the crab legs at Cape May to the ones I can find here in KY at a Chinese Food restaurant. I expected more.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I may just scrap Cape May, I was only doing it for DH as he loves seafood but I'm allergic to shellfish. Epcot just has so many other great options to try!

I thought the Aquarium restaurant in Epcot is good. It has a good selection of seafood and other options (steak) as well. Plus, you get to look at all the fish in the aquarium.
