When do flight prices come down after school holidays?

The friend I'm travelling with has to book her holidays for next year on Monday. I'm thinking about the first two weeks of September but it is difficult to get an accurate idea of flight prices. Does anyone know when prices drop after the schools go back? Thanks.

Lancashire official hol dates are schools back Tues 4th September 2012.

Most areas will be back that week i'd have thought.

Anytime after that you should be fine.

we always look at september first as this is our favourite time of year. although due to the kids schooling and college commitments we never actually make it then. ive noticed a drop in price from about the 26th of august but i dont know what crowds are like then. i know september itself is lovely and quiet though. we usually end up paying double the september prices going over the half term in october. you are lucky to be able to avoid the holidays.

BA & Virgin normally drop around 23rd/24th August onwards that is when we normally go to Florida , get the last week august and first week september just back in time for DD school term start...
