When do Christmas decorations go up at the resorts?

Trying to decide when to go in 2008. I want to be there when the christmas decorations are up. I was thinking about the week before Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure if the decorations are up!!!

Also what are the crowds generally like that week????

For some reason Halloween night sticks in my head. We were just there a few weeks ago and I think I heard that. Not sure though.

They start in November, and all are up by the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I don't imagine you would see many at Halloween.

I dont know this for sure but i would think they would be up before the 1st MVMCP, wouldn't you think? I have never been but thought about it when I saw this question.

They start putting them up around the beginning of Nov and finish toward the end of Nov.

We were there Nov 8th-15th in 2005 and we actually got to see the transition from no christmas to chrismas while we were there. Each day there was a little more up and by the time we left they had started the holiday parades and the characters had started to wear their christmas attire. Made for some really good pictures because we had normal and christmas theme with all the charactes we wanted pictures of.

They hold a "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" on Oct. 31, so they would have to wait until at least Nov. 1 before turning on the Christmas lights. I bet they start with time consumingthings like the Osborne lights in MGM, just don't illuminate them until November.

It takes weeks in some locations to get the decorations up and running. I believe they have already started The Osbourne light display. You might see some decorations the week before Tgiving, but I don't believe they turn them 'on'. All areas are required to have all decorations up and working on the day after Tgiving. Hope this helps.
