When do cancellations start to happen for a restaurant?

Does that title make sense? LOL

We will be in Disney over my birthday and I tried to get into Le Cellier for dinner and of course it is booked. It being a Saturday doesn't help either but I've heard to keep trying.

Is it the kind of thing where I call a couple of times a week or wait until it is closer or the day before? We are going in Sept.

Unfortunately cancellations aren't predictable and happen all the time. Some may cancel today for September, and others may not cancel until the day of.

If it's something that you really want then I'd call as you think of it now, and really amp up your attempts to call within the last 4 weeks before your vacation. I would even keep calling while you're there.

Also, there is a thread on the main board where Dis'ers swap and give away their ADR's - you may want to check that too, but remember that's not the be all end all for dining cancellations.
