When did your babies get teeth???

The very week that she turned "1" she took her 1st step & got her 1st tooth. Now she is 7 (will be 8 in Aug) and still has only lost 3 teeth & still has her 2 top front teeth.

They say the later they get them, the later they loose them. But also on the up side - the shorter they have their Perminate teeth to rot!:rotfl2:

Thanks everyone :) Sounds like my little princess is within the normal range...good point about the teeth not really being necessary for eating since the front ones come in first....

DS, who's now 7, started getting his first teeth in around the age of 1. He was born only 3 weeks prematurely, and his dentist said that was probably the reason behind them coming in late. They also started falling out a little later than a lot of children in his class. I was told by friends that this was beneficial, since it would make his teeth stronger. Dentist said that's a myth. It may seem that way, but only because their teeth aren't exposed to cavity causing agents as quickly as children who teeth at a "normal" pace.

DS got his first 2 teeth at 4 months.
By 12 months he had 14 teeth.
Now at 18 months he has 18 teeth (the last two are just cutting through now).

DS got his first tooth or two fairly early, and then it seemed all the other teeth were slightly delayed. I will just add that I remember that feeling...all the pain of teething and hoping for a tooth to glimmer through all those gums. We would see the tooth just barely peeking out only for it to disappear the next day and not show up for a while yet. Good luck!

my youngest started at 2 months & would get two at a time- by the time she was 10 months she had all her teeth in. My other two started at 4 months & pretty much had them all at 10 months also.

Is 5-6 the normal age to start losing baby teeth?

I think so...my nephew is 6 and just lost a few teeth....

DD had her Dr appt this morning and when I told him she still didn't have teeth he just shrugged....said it's not big deal and nothing you can do about it. He said if she makes it to 15 months w/o a tooth, she'll break the record for his patients...haha....here's hoping they pop through soon :)

Those teeth will come!

My kids were early teethers. I know my oldest had the two bottom front teeth all the way in by 5 months, with the top ones starting.

I don't remember when the 3rd one started teething, but I know he had 20 teeth by 16 months! I remember counting them and thinking "When did all these get there?" My kids have lousy teeth, by the way. Maybe later is better.

DS's 1st tooth broke through just 1 week before his 1st birthday. It's now 8 weeks later, and he has 6 teeth. After the first tooth broke through, 2 more came through within the week, and then then next two about a week apart. He has more coming in now.

DS was teething since 4 months - at least that's what our Dr. told us at his 4 month and 9 month visits (that he was teething and his gums were swollen).

The Dr. said at his 1 yr visit that his molars will probably not come in until 18 - 24 months, since the first teeth were so late. She agreed that his teeth were late, but she has seen them come in as late as 15 - 16 months in some kdis.

One thing I lucked out on was teething. Three kids all had their first tooth by 4-5 months, and not one had any horrid teething problems. They didn't even get cranky, just slobbed alot. Coming out had been a bigger prob. My son didnt lose one until he was about a month short of 7 years old.

My first DS was 14 months to the day almost when he got his first tooth!

My oldest two got their first two teeth at 4.5 months
My baby is not quite 4 months, but she's starting to drool and chomp down on my fingers, so I think it will be within a month or so.

Some of my friends' babies didn't get teeth until closer to one, so I know there is a wide range.

My youngest DD was 13wk's when she cut her 1st 2!! teeth::yes:: , and I certainly knew not by teething pain with her, but breastfeeding;) , but my eldest was about 4mths when she cut her 1st.

My DD was 13 months when she got her first tooth.
She is now 26 months and only has 10 teeth.
She has four front tops, two front bottoms,
and her four one year molars.
Dr. said it was late but still normal...:goodvibes
