When did you decide to "go steady"?

DH asked me yesterday, "what's today's date? ~ do you know this is the date I asked you to go steady?"
Now remember we were high school sweathearts, so this is a normal thing for high school.
I can't believe he remembered the date! We were 15 years old! (23 years ago) How sweet
Did he ask you to "go steady"? and do you remember the date?

Our anniversary is October 8th for started dating & we even got married on that date too - easier on the hubby's mind Neither one of us technically asked the other one out, it was a gradual progression of friendship into more. The reason we picked October 8th as our dating anniversary is because that is the date I asked him "what is going on here Are we dating, seeing other people, what" Well from that point on it was just the 2 of us and as far as I know it had been just the two of us for quite some time prior to that but that is the "official" date we considered us an exclusive couple.

First date...November 6, 1998...asked to go steady Nov. 20, engaged 2-2-99 and married on June 17, 2000. Now my DH would never remember all the dates, but they are very special to me!

We had been friends since August of 1994, and December 4th was when we made it official.

ETA: We were engaged on February 14, 1999 and got married on March 11, 2000.

LOL 16ish years ago DH & I started Dating. He said I just want to date & we can see other people. OK sounds good. 1 week later he calls & says what did you do today & I say

"I went out to lunch with Billy F". He was very quite & said "I don't think we should see other people". OK sounds good

Our "going steady" date is October 25th, 1999.

Apparently DF asked me after school that day if I "would be his girlfriend". I remember thinking that he was asking me rhetorically, like "would I ever", and so I said yes. I guess I inadvertently agreed...

I still have the card he gave me the following day that said he "has everything he needs to be happy - me".

Our "going steady" date is kinda funny.

He was at my apartment and, while we were inside, both of our cars got broken into in the parking lot!

The cops came. As we were giving our report, the cop pointed to DH and said,

"Ma'am, is this your boyfriend?"

I froze! I didn't know what to say, but I sure wanted to scream YES!!! We had never discussed it, so I didn't want to freak him out by "claiming" him too early.

DH said, "Yes, we're a couple." I wanted to swoon...

Later that day he e-mailed me and said he had a new girlfriend in the eyes of the law.

That was March 3rd, 2003.

Sseptember 4, 1983 - the first day of school in 9th grade. He had his friend ask me if I would "go with him." I was 13, he was 14.

On our first date, September 26, 2000. We had been internet dating for months but that was our first face to face meeting. We had already both said we didn't like to date more than one person at a time and since there was no question about chemistry we knew we wanted to see a lot more of each other. We parted that day both knowing we would be getting married. And we did, not even a year later.
