When did you book your PS?

I am waiting to be assigned a planner right now, and am getting impatient about booking my planning session since it is less than 5 months away. When did everyone else book theirs? I want to start making dinning reservations since it is around Christmas so likely to be busy, but want to wait until everything is actually booked so I don't have to change things around.

Also, I am stressing about the cost of the PS. This is the only thing related to the wedding we are having trouble coming up with the money for. It's really tough doing two Disney trips and our honeymoon all in a 6 month time frame. I am considering going for less days than originally planned. Did anyone do a quickie Disney trip for the PS?

I took a 4 day trip in June for my PS (it was originally going to be 3 days but I had enough DVC points to make it 4). My wedding is Sept 22, and I felt like I had more than enough time. The ladies (Amy and Laura) got back to me within 2-3 weeks with my BEO and estimate, and I had to make very few changes.

I am sure a couple of days would be enough and you could always look for a cheaper hotel off Disney property that still has Disney transportation. There are a few around the DTD area in Lake Buena Vista. There are some deals around if you check out Hotwire, Expedia and the like, especially if you book the flight and hotel together. Even the Hilton in DTD has a Fly/Stay package if you look down at the bottom of the Hilton website. You could also plan not to visit the parks :scared1: that would save you money and see this as a trip to work on the wedding not a vacation, does that make sense.

agreed! we only stayed on property because a pal had expiring DVC points they couldn't use. we went for5 days, but we drove and arrive late friday and left before 6am on tuesday. we were exhausted! i totally say get in and get out, you are about to go on a great HM and wedding trip!! let that be where you spend $$$! we did NO ADRs, nothing special. we have APs or seriously, we wouldn't have done the parks at all.

within a couple of weeks of getting a planner name and returning and going over the planner worksheets, we had the opportunity to book a PS for our january wedding.:thumbsup2

I booked my PS the day I got the phone call from my planner. We are going for 2 nights, 1 1/2 days. We got flights our flights for $59 each way from Southwest. We get there Sunday morning on 09/12 and leave on tuesday morning. We won't be doing the parks- I don't think it's worth it to "activate" our APs for a few hours of park time. The "treat" we're doing is going to Hoop Dee Due on the night we arrive, but other than that, no ADR's.

I had little vacation time left and it's our first time away from our son (he's staying with my parents) for more than 8 hours so I didn't want to be away for a long time!
