How far in advance did you book your night before room??
:jumping1:

We booked ours 8 months out at the Hyatt MCO (I was waiting for their rates to go down and happened to catch an AAA special). - Mike

I booked our hotel room in March using priceline. Our cruise isn't until December. We didn't get the Hyatt but got the Holiday Inn Select which is 1 mile from the airport.

If you want the Hyatt by chance I suggest calling as soon as possible. I called expedia trying to book the Hyatt about 14 months before my cruise and thay said they were all ready booked up. I didn't believe them so I called the Hyatt directly and sure enough they are having a convention so there are NO rooms. Oh I was so upset! Who would have thought over a year away and no rooms. Oh well. :(

makaylee,
Keep trying the Hyatt closer to your sailing date. The hotels set aside a certain number of rooms ahead of time for the convention attendees. The potential attendees do not get the hotel information until registration opens up a few months before the convention. There is a deadline for reserving a room at the convention rates that usually is about 1 month before the convention. Any of those rooms that were set aside for convention attendees and are not reserved byt them are then opened up for other guests.
Depending upon the type of convention that is being held there it may or may not be comfortable for you and your family to stay there but if the Hyatt is where you want to be keep trying closer to your dates.
::yes:: I attend one or two conferences a year and if we don't get out ressies in by the deadline then we are left to pay higher rates or stay someplace else. Sometimes I have been able to get a better rate by waiting and going through the hotel directly or a local convnetions/visitors bureau.

We booked the Raddisson about a year or so prior to the cruise.

We booked a room at the Radisson after we got back from our last cruise, so that would be 12 months out.
