When Did the Main Street Elctrical PArade stop?

Does anyone know the last year (or specifically) the last actual date the MSEP was shown in WDW? I went in 2000 (July) with my Dbf who insists he saw it then with me. However I went in 1999 (MAy) and rememebr that it was leaving just after that. I even gloated to my family that I was the last of us to see it! So Who's right?

Your DBF is right. The Main Street Electrical Parade began its second run on May 28, 1999. It ended its second run at the end of operating hours on April 1, 2001. Your 1999 trip would have made you one of the FIRST people to see it after it replaced Spectro, not one of the last.

Yes, It's true, it's last run was April 1,2001 and we were lucky enough to be there...I cried as it was an end to an era. The new parade is very nice, but I'm such a nostalgic person, I love the "Original" parade.

Nope ... you saw SpectroMagic if you were at WDW. The only way you could have seen MSEP last April is if you were at DisneyLAND in California.

We loved this parade. My older DK's(19&22now) loved it. My younger ones(7,8,8) only have seen the video and have commented how they would have liked to see it "for real". We even liked the music(have the CD).

Awesome guys. Thanks! Of course now it will cost me when we go on our next trip. Dbf still hasn't figured out how he will collect his "reward" for being right. Of course, just him being right when I am the family "Disney Expert" is payment enough!

Could you tell me if CM Dusty from a small town near St. Louis is still at the Magic Kingdom directing the crowds at main street? He really knew how to handle a crowd. S-P-E-C-T-R-O-M-A-G-I-C. I can close my eyes and visualize I'm there. He really made the time waiting go by fast.

We were at the MK on May 28. 1999! We got to the MK about 7:15 p.m. & it began raining. It poured rain for about an hour or so. We were upstairs at the Main Street train station with our yellow ponchos on. No one knew for sure what would happen to the parade. About 8:35 p.m. the skies began to clear in the west, the rain stopped & the parade started as scheduled at 9 p.m.
