Hey guys!! Happy Back to School Day (at least around here!)
My girls went out in the cold and wind this morning! I lucked out and got to work from home today. I did about 1/2 hour of Wii Fit before I did anything else!
Got lots of stuff done - ironing, making bulletin boards (covering with fabric) to put Disney pins on, hair cut, mixed up some cookie dough. Now I have to bake for the kids! It's going to be tough not to eat a lot of them. But maybe I will have to jog in place for an hour and earn one!!

Bras - I'm rather smallish, but I do know how important it is to be fitted! I refuse to wear underwire, but still need some support. Two kids did not help their perkiness!
I have heard of Allure too Dawn - haven't been there yet. But really, $65 isn't that bad when just a plain one from Victoria's Secret is like $45 too.

Had a great wrap for lunch today - turkey, goat cheese, fresh garden tomato and cucumber!! It was not as filling as I'd have liked, I'm hungry two hours later.

I'm +0.6. :scared1:

I was actually down by a couple pounds on Friday before I left on my trip, but I had some stomach issues the night before so I'm sure it was inaccurate. Loss of fluids and what not (gross, TMI, yes I know! :lmao:) That's what I get for eating too much fast food last week.

I always get very bloated and irregular (TMI again!) when I travel, regardless of what I'm eating, so I'm hoping the gain is partially that and it will come off quickly. *crossed fingers*

Gotta catch up on a lot of tracking, sorry for the length here...

Time to get back on track from my gluttonous long weekend!

I do want to note that my "loss"* was over two weeks. I certainly didn't lose 6 pounds in the last week!

TWO weeks is still a 3lb loss a week! Still awesome numbers!

Plus - I'm not really a football fan. My DH LOVES football and will watch pretty much whatever is on. We generally root for the Vikes and he loves the Steelers. But I'll smack talk with ya about the Vikes vs. the Saints! We want revenge!!! What a way to start the season!

I'm afraid I was pulling for the Vikings over the Saints last year! :guilty: I know I know Patrick! The Saints had never won, New Orleans needed the morale boost. I know! But I'm a closeted Brett Favre fan!

:lmao:

Patrick- I love the transmissions, and would like to hear about your goings-on as well! :goodvibes: You guys can leave me out of the football talk though, I follow the 'Skins, but I'm not all that hardcore (until they play Dallas!)

Until they play Dallas eh?!

HMPH!

We're going to Hershey Park on the 17th to spend a few days, Piper doesn't know yet, my plan is to wake her up at the usual time and ask if she'd rather go to school or there. My Mom, sis-in-law, and niece are going with us. After Piper's wish trip, we got a "world passport" that includes free admissions to a LOT of amusement parks and such. I'm hoping if the envelopes keep coming we may be able to hit Busch Gardens next month, the passport is only good until March. :goodvibes: I'm thinking while we're in Hershey I may cheat..don't know if I can pass up all that chocolate! If anyone has any tips for the park, let me know! I haven't been there since high school.

So awesome that Piper is still getting trips and tickets and stuff! Love Make a Wish Foundation. Had a very good friend's daugther get a trip to Disney from their foundation. They do good stuff!

Wish I knew what to tell ya about Hershey. Never been. All that chocolate!! I'd be a dead duck! But then again Disney has a ton of treats too! I admit I indulged and plan to indulge again! Main Street Confectionary and Goofy's!

I'm working on joining you there! I hopoe to be helping you with the 'gators soon!

You are soooooooo close to your goal! That has to be super exciting!!! I wanna hear all about your new wardrobe shopping!!

Yup, add me to the list :thumbsup2 I'm a loooooong-time 49ers fan - Mom grew up in SF, so she passed her love of the team on to me. They've done well during the pre-season and I'm excited for the start of the regular season this weekend! I was really happy to see the Saints win the Super Bowl, but maybe this year the Niners can actually give them some competition.

Of course, living in Austin, we HAVE to like the Longhorns ;)

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Glad to hear it! Hook em!

Really glad you're not an Aggie fan. I'd have to control my team spirit some if you were! :rotfl:

Hi Guys!

I am so excited to see the big numbers and small ones and quite frankly...just everyone posting.

The air of success and dedication is contagious!

It definitely is!

According to my scale I am down a total of 16 pounds from when I started and that should put me over 10 since here.

:yay: Dawn!!!

What is your Goal for the rest of the Week?

Mine is too keep doing what I'm doing. Make it a habit again! Continue to track and stay on target points wise! Maybe add some more water in!

Mine is to track online everything!!!! I have slacked the last 2 weeks and although done okay - can always do better.

Let me know if you wanna friend up on WW. I tried it with Julie and we think it's because she's a Canadian member that it won't work. That goes for everyone on here that's doing WW! I think you just need your login name to search for each other on WW community.

She also had a guy who admitted eating 2 cookies, to hold 2 cookies in his hand and wearing a calorie counter, run steps until he burned off those cookies. Great visual and after 5 minutes, sweating and swearing, the guy looked at his watch to find out he had not even burned one.

I did something kinda similar when I first got my Body Bugg. I ran circles around my island one night because I wanted to drink the rest of a milkshake that I knew was 700 cals.

HA HA HA HA

Yeah. Learned right quick how calories in v. calories out is why I'm obese.

Well DUH Aimee. But it was a realllllllllllllll eye opener!

20 laps and 3 mins later I was done and had burned like 20 cals.

:rotfl2:

Needless to say I didn't finish the shake! :thumbsup2

I am a carb addict. No question about it but if I can cut the sugar in my daily routine, and only allow the higher sugar levels a few times a year for holidays, birthdays, vacations etc...#1 I probably will not eat as many as I usually would given the opportunity and again, #2 The daily eating habits I have gained are what led me to this weight. Not Thanksgiving.

AMEN! or vacation

Ok - There is all I know! ;) I miss seeing you all here too BTW.

The girls are actually where they are supposed to be and look fan friggin tastic and they had a ton to choose from that were beautiful not just functional. They are also made better, the stretch is not so much it does not fit after 2 wears and my mom and sister went there and have said the same thing. $65 is average cost but those babies are now riding in a Lincoln not a Yugo and I am not adjusting my straps every 2 minutes. My whole shape has changed and I need to go shopping for new clothes because the shirts I have all are huge now.

If anyone wants, I can post the number here and maybe they have other locations or suggestions of quality bra shops in your area.

I need to do this! My sister in law did something similar and said it was amazing the difference. I'm kinda wanting to wait til I lose a little more. I definitely lose in my bust when I lose. Which is a GOOD thing. The last time I was measured I was a 44DDD.

One of my goals/rewards for losing weight is to be able to buy a bra at Victoria's Secret! I cannot wait to be able to buy one from there! We have a new VS outlet nearby and you can get some crazy deals on panties and bras! I wanna be able to walk in there and stock up! On both! Even if I'm the largest size in there!

:lmao: :lmao: @ Lincoln instead of a Yugo

Good morning everyone!

I’ve taken the day off to burn some PTO days (yup even with the vacation planned in October I need to burn days or I will stop accruing them in January). I was finally able to get a full night sleep last night. And have had a relaxing morning. I’m feeling better, but I’m still having some stomach issues (TMI – everything is going straight through me) so I’m drinking lots and hoping it gets better tomorrow because it will not be fun at work tomorrow.

I didn’t track my food yesterday (once again lots of toast, crackers, etc). I was going to try and hit the gym today, but I think it will be better if I just stay close to home. I’ll probably just try and do some house cleaning and organizing.

Hope you feel better soon Jane! YAY for having PTO to take when you need it!

Back from Vegas! And 6 pounds up! :scared1: I think its more water weight than food weight. I will have to catch up. Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hi Guys!

:cool1: Agreed! It's a HUGE moral booster!!!The air of success and dedication is contagious!

Hope fully things will get into a rhythm around here now with schedules and routines under way.
:confused3 We can always hope, but it seems like there's always a monkey in the wrench, a fly in the ointment...around here .....I'm trying to work with it.
It is crazy windy and cold here. Plan on starting the C25K today. Hopefully tonight with Carsyn.

According to my scale I am down a total of 16 pounds from when I started and that should put me over 10 since here.
:woohoo: Way to Go!
WW at 10 a.m. so I will use that weigh in like I have been doing to see for sure.

What is your Goal for the rest of the Week?

Mine is to track online everything!!!! I have slacked the last 2 weeks and although done okay - can always do better.
Hmmm...I need a new goal. I know I want to walk every day for the rest of the week. I only made 5 days last week and got a slow start with Memorial Day this week. So that's one goal, but nothing "new."
Okay, my goal. To add another form of excercise at least two days this week. Don't know what yet, but I'll think about it tonight and come up with something.

For those hitting goal and maybe a plateau....

Last night I watched on Bravo - Thintervention.

And one thing that struck me between the eyes is the amount of sugar in foods we eat.

The head fitness chick, Jackie, had a mission for everyone to go home and chuck foods they had that had more than 5g of sugar per serving. I am going to try this week to eat only foods that have less than 5g and see what my options are and really see what I might be able to ditch on a regular basis. Fruit obviously has natural sugar but again, added applesauce or canned fruits are so high! 19g in a 4 oz cup of sweetened cinnamon applesauce! :scared1:

Hope that helps.

She also had a guy who admitted eating 2 cookies, to hold 2 cookies in his hand and wearing a calorie counter, run steps until he burned off those cookies. Great visual and after 5 minutes, sweating and swearing, the guy looked at his watch to find out he had not even burned one.

Again, sugar releases chemicals in your brain, like drugs do, that make you crave more and more. The thought is to kick sugars to the curb to help curb your appetite. The doc even said that you would have withdrawls for a few days with headaches etc.

This is me to a tee. I've tried to cut back, but admit that I'm probably still eating some high sugar choices. I'll have to look through my "approved snacks" and see where I'm off track. Maybe it will help.
Ok - There is all I know! ;) I miss seeing you all here too BTW.

Oh yeah - Bra's - I do know something else.

I was re-fitted at a store called Allure, here in MN. Just 2 weeks ago. They are also in Chicago and who Oprah goes to. (Sheree - they are on Grand in St. Paul.)

I have never had anything like this before.

Been to Bali's. Been to Vicki's. Blah Blah blah.

Always told my band size was getting up there so options were limited. Also, for full figures, they seem to assume you have a ton of b00b mass. Not true. You could stuff a softball on the top of the full cup ones they always tried to fit me in.

So like many here, I avoided it and would just cry trying on bra's.

Then I went to Allure. Best experience ever. The lady spent 45 minutes with just me and after the first measure, she was on the money and now it was just a matter of fit and comfort.

I went from a 44/46 to a 42 and then from a C/D to a DD/E, depending on which one. Going down in band and up in cup made all the difference.

This is one area I'm completely off on my own raft. This is NOT where my weight goes. Well some, but not enough to have an issue. Being overweight just makes me look normal upstairs. Wait until I lose the excess baggage. Then, I'll be investing in packs of tube socks... :lmao: Oh, well, you can't have it all. Some sacrifices must be made for the greater good. :rotfl2:

I'm afraid I was pulling for the Vikings over the Saints last year! :guilty: I know I know Patrick! The Saints had never won, New Orleans needed the morale boost. I know! But I'm a closeted Brett Favre fan!

You know, the Vikings have never actually won a super bowl - they went 4 times back in the 70s, but never won!! We were kind of hoping Brett would change that. Maybe this year!

So we took the girls out to dinner for the first day of school.
I ordered a spinach, mushroom and cheese omelette. I scraped off the hollandaise sauce. But I did eat the pancakes that came with it.

I only ate one of the cookies I baked (if you don't count a spoonful of the dough!).

Tuesday:
B: mini bagel w/ nutella
L: turkey wrap with goat cheese, cucumber and tomato
S: cookie, handful of honey roasted peanuts
D: spinach, mushroom and cheese omelette, pancakes, raspberry iced tea

Just when I thought I could get started here again, we found out that we are MOVING! :cool1: Hubby got a promotion and we are moving to South Carolina. We flew out last week to see the area and really liked it. The next month is going to be insanely crazy! Once we get moved and settled in, I hope to see you all back here on Skinny Island. We're going to be close to the beach. How's that for motivation to lose weight?!

Oh, and best of all I'm going to be within driving distance from Disney!! I can get in my car and be there in like, 4 1/2 hours. Woohoo!

Good morning, all!

Sherry- Sounds like a good reason for season passes to me too! I hate moving, but I bet you'll love SC!

My goal for the week is to get my 4,000 cals burned! I didn't walk Monday with Piper home so I'm going to have to make some up somewhere! Good day here yesterday, finished the yardwork and got my walk done. Then last night after homework and such we got into the pool. Nothing too exciting going on, have to return envelopes once Piper is on the bus (they have to be back by 9am) and then will walk in town. The loop is 2.75 miles, I might try to get three laps, that would pretty much get me caught up. Ohh..I almost forgot..I ordered new socks with toes in them and wore them for the first time yesterday walking, my feet were in heaven! It was hard for me to spend $10 on a pair of socks, but it was so worth it! Def going to be getting another pair, it was the first time I didn't have to worry about my feet and trying to figure out if I was feeling a hotspot while I walked!

My goal for the remainder of the week:

Step up my game regarding exercise...and I'm doing well so far too. :thumbsup2

My specific goal was to earn myself a minimum of 5 points daily (doing WHATEVER) for a minimum of five days. So a weekly total of 25 exercise points earned, or more!!

So far, I've earned 19, and the week is still young!! (Monday to Sunday for my tracking).

Yesterday was DD7's first day of school. She entered grade two. She didn't know where to go when the bell rang so she just stood there crying, hoping a teacher would notice her and tell her what to do.

We don't find anything out in advance here...the kids just line up in last year's place, and that teacher directs them from there. I guess she forgot about this.

Eventually, she was directed to the gym (where they all gather to regroup and divide up) and found her way to her new classroom. She likes her new teacher and has a couple of friends in her class.

We took her out to Wendy's for dinner. Can't remember if I posted it here before or not but the last time we were in Chatham visiting my parents, they wanted to get a Wendy's kids meal. As I was driving around to pay, she sighed and confessed that next time we go to Wendy's (and that's like NEVER cause these guys are loyal to the golden arches) she wanted to get a BACONATOR!!! :scared1:

Now, I've looked it up online...there are three baconator burgers...single, double and TRIPLE!! The single burger is 610 calories and 34 grams of fat!!!!! :faint: Needless to say, I was not all that excited about getting her the dang burger.

DH said we should just go for it, since she wouldn't finish it anyway.

So that's where we went for dinner last night and as I'm getting in line, I mention that she's not able to get a kid's meal AND a baconator at the same time. She was disappointed and during the discussion that followed it became clear that all she really wanted was bacon on her burger!!

A RELIEVED Mommy, happily ordered our usual and added a Jr. Bacon cheeseburger on top and just switched out the burgers. It's currently in the fridge...DH didn't want it and neither did I. He was too full after finishing off my chili.

After dinner we had to go to Walmart (with everyone else in Windsor, apparently :scared1:) to get them new shoes. They've been wearing their sandals all summer and when we brought out their runners, it was clear that they were in rough shape and needed replacing.

Today I spent hours (and barely made a dent) cleaning the house. I prefer to do my spring cleaning in the fall so the front hall closet was cleaned out and the stove top and the floors were scrubbed on top of my regular housework. I've got to do a couple of extra items every day this week and part of the next before I'll be done but DS5 helped out today and earned himself another Disney dollar.

Water weight and whatnot from my trip has subsided, I checked this scale again this morning out of curiosity and was 2 lbs lighter than I was yesterday. Let's hope it doesn't keep bouncing around now! :rotfl2:

Started my mini TR on my Phoenix trip. Glad we've got a general 'US west' trip report forum here on the Dis or I wouldn't get to randomly show off pictures that no one is really interested in! :lmao:

Hi gang, just checking in!

DD started preschool yesterday! So far no tears, and she's come home in the same clothes every day! She's been home potty trained since the spring, but most of the summer was what I called "naked trained". She would use the potty, on her own and for both functions, as long as she was naked on the bottom, but would pee right through underwear. She's been keeping underwear dry at home for about 6wks now, so we figured it was time to start working on away from home. I mean, we take her to the potty any time she asks when we're out, but we've always put pullups on her. I figured though that the routine of being at school (and all the other kids going) would help her stay dry, and so far so good. If she gets through the whole week dry, she gets a new bike helmet!

It's so nice having time to myself in the mornings. Today I just vegged out to savor my first day of peace (DH was home with me yesterday) but tomorrow I "plan" on starting my new routine of walking & Wii when she is gone at school. I really want to hit it hard this week, as I finally got my disc biopsy scheduled for next Thursday, and I'm sure I'll be down for a couple days after that.

And hooray for football! I do follow the Saints (of course) and the Steelers, but am really more of a college fan. LSU by proximity and secondary affiliation (my parents, sister, and now cousin's daughter go there - and she's in Tiger Band!), University of Pittsburgh by primary affiliation (went to school there myself, and was in the marching band there). And naturally, we're starting DD off early! I'll have to get a picture of her in her LSU stuff another time, but here's one of her in her Pitt cheerleader outfit. Can you tell I have a little diva on my hands?!?

Good morning, all!

Elizabeth- Woohoo for being potty trained..and how cute is she in the cheerleader outfit? Enjoy your mornings off!

Julie- I hear you on the cleaning thing! LOL @ the baconator..Piper's recent thing has been wanting an adult meal from Mickey D's! (never mind we haven't been there for months!)

Okay day here yesterday, Returned envelopes and walked in town again, which was a nice change except that my thighs are still sore from pulling weeds Monday! Going to do a very light mile today and call it good. Went to my mom's after walking and at lunch she springs on me that 1. She still has made no accomodation arrangements for while we're at Hershey.. and 2. There's an RV show there that weekend as well. :scared: So I called around the various campgrounds (we originally were going to do a cabin, which I thought she had reserved) and of course they're all booked to the hilt. I was able to find several hotel rooms at similar rates, but could not get a firm decision from her. Going back today with the resolve of having a room booked before I leave!

Tracking-
Breakfast- Smart Ones Pot Roast (Around 10:30..lol), peach.
Lunch- Roast beef and swiss on sammie thin w/ honey dijon.
Dinner- Pasta w/ vodka sauce, mixed veggies.
Snacks- :rolleyes1 2 pineapple cookies, 2 peanut butter cookies, another peach, grapes, 100 cal cream cheese dip, apple date bread.

Cals 1753 (1700-2050) Bad carb day, obviously..not sure what was up with that. Stayed in range on everything though. New day today!
Exercise- 5.5 mile walk.

Sept 8th- Done!

Hey Everybody! I just want to say I'm sorry once again for being completely absent from this tread for the last few weeks. Life has been so busy I haven't really had any free time to get on my computer. I told DH that I "needed" an iphone so I can play on the net while i"m out & about. Yeah that didn't go over so well :)

Anyway, just wanted to take a sec (while my house is still sleeping) to post and say Hey & that I really hope to regularly get back on the thread soon. I miss reading what you guys are up to & how your weight loss journey is going.

As for me, I have officially started training for my 5th WDW full marathon, which includes committing to 5 days a week of working out, 4 of those are running. So 18 weeks from now I will be in my favorite place running 26.2 miles to get my 5th very cool Mickey medal. I must be disney obsessed to want to run that long while on vacation, but hey I'll do ANYTHING for a disney trip.

Hope to catch up soon....
