When converting to AP, what about your Magic Band?

We have 7 day tickets (direct from Disney) that we'll be converting to APs on arrival. Since we don't need to bridge, we are going to do it our first day there which will be at DTD. What happens to our Magic Bands we already have? As in the new ones that will have just been mailed to us? I've read they issue new ones, but I don't want four gray bands. So I'm not sure if they let you pick colors there, or if they can link your AP to the latest MB you received in the mail.

You can keep all the magic bands. They'll all work. I have several from several resort stays, as well as my AP magic band. I get to pick which color looks best with the outfit I'm wearing! :rotfl:

When my AP magic band popped up in my Disney account, it waited for me to customize it before it was mailed. They didn't give me my AP band on site.

You can link the AP to the MB that you already received via MyMagic+. There is a section where you can link all of your park tickets. Once you link the AP, the info will be stored in the MB. You will have no problem using the AP and the MB. If you don't want new MBs, you can tell the Guest Service when you buy your AP. They will help you.
