When can you use borrowed or transferred points?

We are looking at booking a 2 BR in april (not until 2017) at AKV -- we definitely want a SV, but i will have 360 points (with banking and borrowing) and not the required 372. I know I can make a purchase of the needed points, but i would only be allowed to do this at 7 months. I don't want to risk not being able to get that room.

If I found an AKV member who could transfer the needed 12 points to me -- would i be able to book at 11 months or would i still be restricted to the 7 month booking window?

At 11 months since they are from the same home resort

Transferred points retain their home resort. If you found an AKV owner to transfer points, then, yes, you could make that reservation at 11 months. If the transferred points matched your use year, they would show up on line and you could book at 8:00 a.m., but if they are a different use year, you'll have to wait until 9:00 a.m. to call and make the reservation.

Two things to think about, however;
1. finding an owner willing to transfer such a small number of points over 11 months in advance is exceedingly unlikely. Members are only allowed one transfer per year, so owners tend to want to transfer points in large chunks or wait until they know the points aren't going to be used, so much closer to expiration.
2. I'm not sure what you meant by "SV;" it could be standard or savanna view. Either way, though, I'd expect a two bedroom in either category to be available at 7 months. I'd probably risk it and just leave off one night on either end, and then book that one night at 7 months.
