When can you request room preference

I am staying at the VWL starting October 15th. I called the resort and they said you can not make a request until two weeks out. The person did not sound too sure of themselves so I thought I would ask on here.

I don't know the answer, but the resort board could prob. tell you. I don't know how to post a link!

4 days before you arrive call your hotel. Thats what I was told. I arrive on sunday and called wednesday.

Shortly before you arrive, 3-4 days, call or fax the resort's front desk.

I called my hotel 4 days out and was transfered to the Walt Disney Travel who could not help me at all. So I gave the requestto my travel agent.

Wondering if I should try calling the hotel again?

can I biggy back on this and ask what you say in your fax/call.

I have a good friend going to WDW on their honeymoon 9/26. They are staying in a standard room at WL. Their reservations do have a king bed request and note that they are honeymooning.

I have a fax and I'd like to send in a request for any upgrade but I really don't know what to say. If it looks better to have the couple do it, that can be arranged.

They have never been to WDW so they are considering me their "expert"

Any advice.
