When can you purchase Genie+?

We are going in early December, do we have to wait to purchase Genie+ on our first day in the parks? Or can it be done in advance? If in advance, how? I hate how overly complicated they have made all of this and unfortunately I don’t have a ton of time to dedicate researching this. I hope someone can provide a quick answer. Thank you in advance.

If you have regular tickets, Genie+ can be purchased in advance. You would need to modify the tickets to add Genie+ and it must be added for all days on the ticket.

If you have an Annual Pass, your only option is to add Genie+ on the day of use. This can be done anytime after midnight.

How would I modify the ticket in the app? I’m afraid to change anything this close to our trip for fear of losing our park reservations?
Is it best to just purchase day of? Again, I’m mad at Disney for making this a pain!

It is easiest just to add it to reservation on the morning you are going to a particular park. As long as you add it before 7AM you can make a Genie Plus reservation for the park. You can only make one reservation at a time and when you do that ride, you can make another. I did not use it every day during my recent stay.

If I understand correctly, if you want to add it to some days but maybe not all, you have to buy it each day, sometime after midnight for the next day, with your ability to select LL “slots” or ILL$ starting at 7:00.

ETA: looks like I was too slow!

8 day park hopper tickets.

I added mine onto our tickets just a couple of days before our trip started - didn't impact anything with park reservations.

However, if you add it to your tickets in advance, you have to add it for every day you have tickets and there is no discount. I didn't want the stress of having to add it every morning so I bought it for my entire package. However, I could have saved myself a little money by adding on a daily basis. You really don't need it for EPCOT, so for me that was $45 + tax with very little value.

Yep that's me too and Disney knows it. I even complain about all this nickle and diming and keep on coming back for more with credit card in hand to buy it up. My name is Goofy4prez and I am an addict. LOL
