We will be checking in at BWV on Dec 2 and plan to spend the entire day at AK. When can we buy or LOS passes at BWV? Can we buy them the night before we check in or do we have to wait until that day?
We are staying at WL for one night before and are getting up early for a character breakfast at AK. Any ideas or suggestions???
I want to make it as smooth as possible.
Thanks!

I believe you can purchase them at either WL or at BW when you check in. Just let them know when you want them to begin, either the day you check in or the next day.

Have fun!

I don't want to confusse you but if you have 2 reservation numbers and you'll only be at the WL for one night, then you'll have to get the Passes when you check into the BWV.

If you have one reservation number for both resorts, then you can get the passes when you first check in to the WL.

Without going into detail, I'll be at the BWV for 12 days. 3 days in a studio and the rest in a 1 BR. They did this with 2 reservation numbers and when I asked about the LOS passes I was told I couldn't buy 1 for the entire stay because I was actually "checking out" and "checking in" again when I switch rooms; not resorts mind you but rooms.

Good Luck and hey...call MS and see what they say!

for the information.
We have two different ressies.
We only want the passes for our stay at BWV. Do we actually have to check in before we buy them, or can we just have our ressie. We will need to buy them around 7am to make it to our character breakfast in time. We can't check in that early.
Help! :)

Unfortunately you purchase the passes when you check in. You can check in that early, but you just won't have your room until later in the afternoon; most times. What about luggage? Will you have the WL transfer it for you??

we are driving down to FL, so we will have an overnight bag for our one night at WL. I appreciate the info. Looks like we will be checking in XTRA early! :) :pinkbounc

The LOS system now is personal to each hotel. If you are staying at two different resorts, you can buy a LOS at each resort only for the particular time you are staying at that resort. In other words, for the time you are at WL, you can be one there for the time you will be at WL. For the time you are at BWV you can buy one there only for the time you are there. And you can buy it only at the time you check into the particular resort. Thus, you should skip buying a pass at VWL and then get to BWV early the second morning and check in and get tickets (you can check in as early as 7 and often even a little before then; you likely won't get your room but you will get your room keys with the LOS coded on them).

According to the Member Benefits Guidebook, bottom of page 8:

The length of stay refers to the actual dates of the entire stay and not the length of a specific reservation. For example, even if the stay combines different room types (a 7 day stay with the first 3 days in a Studio and the last 4 days in a 1-bedroom vacation home), both reservations together would constitute a single stay and Unlimited Magic Admission must be purchased for the entire 7 days of the stay. Additionally, if the stay combines cash and Vacation Points reservations, both reservations together would constitute a single stay.

Does that still stand? And does it include stays at two different DVC resorts?

If it has changed, does that mean our day of checkout from OKW will overlap with our day of checkin at BWV, which would mean we would actually be paying twice for one day?

That LOS language is basically correct but it is referring to what you do if you move rooms in the same resort. Here is what will happen if you have two resorts-- you buy one LOS at the first resort; if you choose, and ask, that resort will let you leave one day off (arrival day or check out day from that resort). At the second resort you buy another LOS for your stay at that resort--they will also leave one day off (check-in or departure). Thus, you can arrange it so that you don't pay twice for the same day. The problem with this system is cost--Disney now makes more money off the LOS if you switch resorts and buy one at both; the reason--say you are going to get a LOS for 7 days total, 3 at one resort and 4 at the other; the combined cost of the separate 3 and 4 day LOS's is sognificantly higher than the single price for a 7 day LOS because the more days you buy on a single LOS the less each additional day costs.

Geez, that stinks. We're only staying at two different resorts because I couldn't get BWV 9 1/2 months out. :(

As always, thanks for the info, drusba.

Kamgen & MaryAnn...

I'd suggest considering Park Hopper Plus tickets. You get nearly the same benefits of the LOS, and, if your finances permit, you can buy the 7 day PHP tickets, use what you need, and keep the rest for later. Makes no difference at what resort you're staying, and you can buy them discount online if you choose.

to all of you for the info! :)

Here is what I plan to do, maybe it will help others.
We are driving in late on Saturday and staying one night at VWL. We are not buying any passes there, we plan to relax from our long drive and get a good night sleep.
On Sunday morning at 7am, I will go check us in at BWV and get our LOS passes, leaving off departure day since we will be leaving in the am. We will then head over to AK for our character breakfast and our day at AK. :)

I posed this question to see if we could get our LOS passes the night before we checked in or not. I see we can't, so looks like I will be there bright and early :)

Is 7am the earliest?? Thanks for all your help!

Officially 7 a.m. is the earliest time but if you get there any time after 6:30 they will probably check you in.
