when can I start to use tickets?

I have a reservation starting on a Sunday for 7 nights. If I buy a park pass for 9 days and I arrive in Orlando on Saturday, can I start to use my park passes on Saturday before I check in on Sunday? If I have to wait until the day of arrival, can I enter the park Sunday morning before checking into resort, POR? If I were to do on-line check-in before arriving in Orlando Saturday, would that work?

If you buy tickets separately from your resort stay (not "package tickets,") you can simply start using them at ANY time... they are not related to your resort stay.

If you buy tickets as PART OF your WDW resort stay ("package tickets,") you can activate (and start using) them up to 10 days before your check-in date.

You can go ahead and check in at POR even if your room isn't ready and park there. If you go to a park, you can be refunded for your parking.

If you go to guest relations at any park on Saturday, they will do it for you. We did this, the CMs called it "checking in" our tickets.

I'm still wondering if you have bought your tickets separately from your resort stay, because (as I said earlier) that will affect what you may or may not need to do to use your tickets on an earlier day than resort check-in.

Where and how you bought your tickets also affects when you can book your FP+ for any days prior to your WDW resort check-in.

You need to go to guest relations (its next to security at every park + disney springs) and have your tickets activated early. You can do this up to 10 days in advance. You are not a resort guest yet so your the same as any offsite guest with where you can park and you need to pay for parking. you're also not eligible for EMH if the park has them on that day.
