When can I make rez for Alaska cruise

Does anyone have experience with using points for reservation for the Alaska cruise on Holland America? I am planning a trip for next year and am wondering when is the earliest that I can make such a reservation. As far as I can tell, not even Holland America is selling for next year yet. When do they start selling for next year's cruise season?

Has anyone had any luck with making a reservation for the cruise at the last minute? How far in advance do we need to book through Disney to ensure a room is available? I had heard that Holland America has alloted certain number of rooms on each cruise for DVC, is that true?

I've never done DVC points for a cruise, but I can tell you that I just booked a May 2007 Alaskan cruise on Princess Diamond that last I looked was not listed on the website- my TA contacted me as soon as it became available to her about 2 weeks ago.
Mini-suite on starboard side on northbound cruise, yee haw!
