When can I make Ressies?

I just bought 180 points on Monday at SSR. I haven't gotten the paperwork yet...but I thought he said that I could still start making ressies. I know all about the 11month/7month but can I make ressies now or do I have to wait until the paperwork is signed? If I can what is the # I call! I want to try and get a studio or at least on the waitlist for BCV for either Nov (can't until April) or Jan (not until June). My friend has never been to Disney and I figure this is the perfect time to take her! Does anyone know...is Veteran's day usually a busy time at DVC? Also if I can get on the waitlist for a studio at BCV...can I go ahead and book at SSR just in case? And do if I want to book say Nov 11-14 would I book on April 11? Or April 14?

One question about banking...I know in the first 6 months u can bank 100% of your points. If I choose to bank some and my use year is Aug do I have until Jan 1 or Jan 31?

If you have paid your deposit and have your member number you should be all set. If you don't have your member number, call your guide. We were able to make a reseration as soon as Disney had our deposit.

Veteran's Day can be busy as it is a school holiday for many. Also, I believe NJ teachers have a convention near this time and since the school kids are off during the convention, many NJ residents come down to WDW. Don't worry and don't let it keep you from coming at that time. You can manage!

Lots of us make a reservation at our home resort in case we can't switch to another resort at 7 months. Feel free to make a ressie at SSR right away as a back up. You can cancel it if your BCV ressie doesn't work out.

And do if I want to book say Nov 11-14 would I book on April 11? Or April 14?

If you are checking out on November 14, you would call on April 14. If your last night is November 14 (checking out on 11/15), you would call on April 15. That's if you want to make the whole reservation with one call.

You might want to do day by day for that time. In that case, call on April 12 for the night of 11/11, call again on April 13 to add November 12, call again, etc. until you have the last night reserved. Just tell MS what your final check out day will be on the first call and the CM will hold the confirmation until you have made all the calls.

With an August use year, you have until January 31 to bank up to 100% of your annual allotment. If Jan 31 happens to fall on a weekend, you have to call on the friday before.

I did not make my first reservation until I had received the contract which included a temporary membership card and the phone number to Member Services.

I also chose to make my first visit home to another resort, BCV, but I did make a reservation at SSR first just in case I could not get the one I wanted once the 7 month window opened at BCV.

As far as when to call, you call 7 months ahead of the check-out date, but you can call day by day and you may want to for BCV.

I hope that hepls with the reservation part of your question. I am already in a borrowing mode, so I'll let someone else answer the banking part of your questions.

Congratulations on your purchase! I think there is a caveat for new SSR members that your reservation has to be for a time beyond when your building is expected to be completed. I'm assuming that November is beyond that time period. However, you couldn't call right now and book for April since nothing at SSR has opened.

If he/she does make a reservation at BCV and uses all his points (current and borrowed) can he/she still make a reservation at Saratoga as a backup even though they do not have the points?

Once you have made a reservation that uses all your points, you can't make any more reservations until you cancel something and free up points.
