We have never been to DHS and so have never been to any TS there. What ONE would you NEVER want to miss? TIA!!!!

for us personally, it would be Sci-Fi - we really enjoy the theming of watching old movies/trailers on an "outdoor" drive-in screen while eating in a "convertible" car - likewise, the 50s prime-time is also a "never miss" for us (love the 50s styling in the tables, B&W TVs with old food-related sitcom clips playing, all the "props" in the kitchenettes - now, for a classier meal, our choice would be the brown derby for food, more elegant theming and service

We don't care much for the TS places in DHS, we hop on a boat and go to Beach Club to Cape Mays......YUM!

For my family and extended family it is definitely 50's Prime Time Cafe!

Our favorite DHS TS is The Brown Derby. Excellent food, nice ambience, and great service.

I agree Sci-fi diner is fun and I love how quiet it is though it might be to dark and strange for young kids, 50's primtime is a hoot if you get the right wait staff and is great for all the family, and my favourite is the Brown Derby but it is more for adults. Ummm the flourless chocolate cake ---- wish I was there eating is now....:worship:

I would agree. For us we head over to Downtown Disney for Wolfgang Puck Cafe or Raglan Road.

If forced to stay at DHS, I would say Mama Melrose is okay.

I just asked my DH and DS15 and they can't give me an answer between 50's Prime Time and Mama Melrose. We really enjoyed both of those. We have reservations for both of those on our upcoming trip.

It used to be Brown Derby for their Lunch Menu. However, they've switched to an all day menu rather than separate lunch & dinner menus so its no longer a must do :(

Its always been Sci Fi for us. We are in that rare group that absolutely hated 50's Prime Time. We have always loved the atmosphere at Sci Fi. The food is not gourmet but they make a mean burger, good salad and onion rings. You can't beat the movies and sitting in cars. My ds always loved it and still does at age 18.

Definitely!!! This was our absolute best meal, food-wise, on property last time. The service was impeccable, they even fixed my very picky 4yo a special meal because she didn't like anything on the child's menu. The only thing that sucks is that it's 2 meal credits, but we can't go to DHS without eating dinner here.

In switching to the all day menu they eliminated some items. We looked at the new menu posted outside and decided not to eat there. We went to the Sci-Fi instead and loved it. The Reuben sandwich was supurb!

None, but we do like Sci-Fi, however no tears are shed if we miss it, DHS is severely lacking in this area!!

How long would this take? We only have one day for each park and I don't want to use up a lot of time traveling but I don't much care for the food choices at DHS either.

Thanks!

Nothing! We find very little to eat here and are in fact planning on heading over to the Boardwalk and Big River Grille this time for late lunch/early dinner.

That being said, maybe next time we will try Sci-Fi with the kids (have done it without them and liked it enough). My parents do like Mama Melrose's but DH refuses to go to a "fake" Italian restaurant.

Casting a vote for the Brown Derby! Beautiful setting and awesome food, deserving of the "signature" meal designation. If you're trying to conserve TS credits for another 2 TS meal and you're going during a busy time, you might want to consider paying OOP for the Fantasmic! package.

We usually don't dine at HS every trip but when we do it is usually 50s Prime Time...wonderful atmosphere and very entertaining :) Sci Fi is also a good one as well

So it would seem from the responses (or lack of) that no one is particularly fond of Hollywood and Vine?

H&V was our absolute worst meal of the trip. I've posted about our experience before so I won't go into it again - all I'll say is - IMHO Stay away!
