When are your May holidays?

Hi just a quick question, my eldest son has just started school so I'm not too familiar when all holidays should be, but he has a week off from 24th may, does anybody else have a break in may?

Ours in Devon are also that week. I think probably most of UK are because of the bank holiday on 26th May.
There is a useful link in 'Other useful information' which gives school holidays in various countries.

Hi - Essex schools are off from Monday 26 May (Bank Holiday) until Friday 30 May, hope this helps - Julie

We just have a couple of in service days in NE Scotland but then our summer holidays start earlier than the english ones

State schools in England and Wales will have this week, as it is tied to the Bank Holiday, as Piebibby said. Lots of people still call this Whitsun holiday, but actually nowadays it is 'late spring bank holiday'.

My daughter's school is off mon 5th - Fri 9th May (We're going then). We live in Northern Ireland. The schools here don't get holidays in April, but get about 10 days around Easter, so maybe that's why we get the earlier break. We also start summer holidays at the end of June, much earlier than in England.

Hope this means that the crowds won't be too bad while we're there!
