When are Rooms Assigned or Requested?

We are staying for the first time at our home resort (VGF), and I don't remember making a room request at the initial booking. We have a Studio Standard View booked--and to be honest, I am half tempted to just let fate decide what room we have. I could live with a ground floor (because we love to go to the pools), but I would also like the upper floors for the better views.

With this being said, when do they assign the rooms? Our trip isn't until Nov 5th, so we obviously have some time. I just don't want to get stuck in those couple of rooms I've seen on here that have those roof-line only views, lol.

The resort room assigners can start up to 10 days before check in.

If you want to add a request to your reservation, I suggest that you use the contact form on the member website.

I don't know if this is what you mean but here goes: when you do the on-line check in starting at 60 days out, you can click on a link that will give you choices dependent on which resort you're staying at. So for example when I just checked in at OKW, it offered options for lower floor, higher floor, water view, fairway view, etc.
By the way, when I stayed at VGF last December, I had a "regular view" room that was great---I could see the monorail on the right, Poly straight ahead, and Lake on the left.

Note that these are just requests, not guarantees, that you are putting on your 60-day check in (just like a request when you make your reservation). Your actual room probably isn't assigned until the day you arrive (or perhaps the day before). When we stayed at the Poly in May, we had requested a few things and none of them were honored because they didn't have those rooms available.

As has been stated, it will simply be a request. But if you are wishing for a particular type of room. It doesn't hurt to get to check-in early and ask if any are available to check in for that day if you don't get assigned to one at first.
