When are porters at DCL terminal?

I'm thinking of driving our rental car to the terminal, dropping off our bags, then returning the car to Budget and riding back to the port on the Budget shuttle (to avoid shlepping the bags onto the shuttle). How early are the porters available at the terminal to drop off the bags?

I don't think you can drop off your bags before they "open", which is usually around 10-10:30'ish.

Somebody else may have tried this...so you may get additional replies.

The terminal will need to be open for you to do this - DH drops me off and then returns the car and comes back on the shuttle. Saves space in the shuttle if it is only returning drivers w/out luggage.
