When are LA/OC schools back in session?

I realize that not all schools are on the same calendar, but will most be back in session as of Jan. 5th? I'm thinking of a trip to the parks that week, but if its going to be crazy, I'd rather wait.

unless they are year round I would think they would be. . . my one on year round down here in san diego is off till the day after MLK day. . if that helps at all. .. .

Just had Christmas today in SoCal with family and my aunt teaches elementary school in LA. Her school is on a traditional year and does not start again until Jan 12. I was surprised at this and asked her to reconfirm and she said it in fact was Jan 12. My sister's children, on the other hand, start back Jan 5 in Riverside just east of LA.

if you see the hours go down to 8pm, you know its a good day to go.
