When are discounts posted?

I cannot remember when discounts for the summer or fall are typically posted. How far out do they typically release discount information? We are hoping to book August 2017 and wanted to know how many months before, deals or promotions are are released. Our last trip was September 2015 and we called and did the 30%off room for deluxe, but can't remember how long before the trip I called up to get the deal applied.
