When and what should I write for room request?

I am leaving next Wednesday for a wonderful 7 night stay at AKL stay. I have booked a concierge deluxe room with bunkbed for family of six (me, DH, DD13,DS9,DD3 and DD1) what requests should I make . I would like to be close to the lounge and have a savannah view room. Is this possible?

Though I've never faxed a room request myself....Everywhere I have read has said 4 days ahead of your arrival.

Put "Animal Kingdom Lodge - Attention : Room Controller" as the subject.

Commonly, if you have a cute intro like

"Greetings from ___________, our ______ trip to WDW is fast approaching and though we are sure it will be a magical stay, there are a few things that would make the magic come alive even more. I was wondering if it would be possible to _________________________ (fill in # 1 request here). It would be great if we could have a view of _____________, on the _______ floor etc....

Most often your first request will be fulfilled. If you get a really great room controller and make your request extra polite you might just get a few things that you ask for.

Don't forget to mention any birthday's or anniversaries that might occur on your trip (if there are any) I've heard Disney often does special things for those.

What worked for me at the BC in Nov. (first time I did this):

1) Keep it short/brief.

2) Fax it 3 days in advance of your arrival.

3) I added a couple of Disney clip art to my letter. In my case, I used Tigger -- my favorite character.

4) I used "Mickey" font (you can download from the Internet).

5) Prioritize your requests; list the absolute most important one first, then 2nd most important, etc.

6) Don't ask for "the moon." Sometimes asking for less will get you more.

I ended my request with "Have a Tigger-ific day!"

Result: we booked as standard room, non-concierge. What we got: standard room on the concierge floor, no extra charge. I wouldn't expect this again and I don't know if my rather silly request did anything. But we did have a wonderfully magical vacation!

I have booked a Standard view wing room at the Contemporary, we have never stayed there before. What do you all think would be the best room type to ask for without going overboard?

Nope. My only request was for a non-smoking room. I asked several times from several CMs at the front desk and even the concierge staff to find out why we were upgraded and no one knew. I'm not complaining ('cept maybe now I am SPOILED ROTTEN! ).

If your requests are noted on your initial reservation, I've understood that the fax is not necessary and is considered over-kill?

We just booked at POR for next November and all of our requests are already noted. That should be enough, is that right?

Just wondering why sometimes they are noted on the reservation and some times not. I recieved my conformation sheet but my requests were not noted....thanks...amy

I've never seen them on the confirmation sheet. But, when I called yesterday, the agent showed them all in the system.

I'm not sure why they don't include them on the confirmation. You'd think it would reduce the number of calls to double check them?

We have stayed at CR twice, both were in the North Wing.
We booked Standard view and I requested a non-smoking room. We got rooms that overlooked the lake. The views were really nice and we could see the night water parade, also had a view of the sunrise each morning.
