When a child turns 9 question

I know that I have read that if one has a child's ticket and the child turns 9, the ticket can be brought to Guest Services and they will update it to an adult pass.

So, my question:

Say we bought it thru a broker - like Ticketmania, when the ticket is updated at WDW Guest Services do we have to pay the diff between the broker's price and the WDW price - or is just updated to the adult pass?

Can a partially used child's ticket be updated to the adult pass?

You won't have to upgrade the ticket until the child turns 10, wdw child prices are 3-9yo.

In case that dosen't help the answer to your other questions is that WDW will convert the pass no matter where you bought it (assuming its leigit of course!) and no matter how many/few days are left. There is no charge for this.

Simply go to guest relations with the pass and the child, explain the situation and they will re-issue the pass with the same number of days and plus options if any as an adult pass instead of a child pass.

The child has to be present and the dates must make sense, so you can't have say a 15yo with you and a childs pass that was bought last year.

If your child has just turned 10 (or even 11), there's no real need to run to Guest Relations to do the exchange. You can simply use up the left over child's ticket. No one will question you. Where the exchange becomes important is if your ticket is from 10 years ago child is now 18 or 19.

We had that experience with a child's ticket. He had turned 10, and they told us at the guest services window to just let him keep using the child's ticket.
