Wheelchairs in Water Parks?

We are having a Grand Gathering this summer and I am wonderingif my FIL will be able to go to the water parks. He is very large (400+) and has had a failed knee replacement which has left him minimally mobile. He can transfer and do very short walk. Steps he can do but it causes extreme pain and takes him a long time. Are water parks out for us? If we were able toget him in the park, could the floats handle him ? I don't want to get in an uncomfortable or embarrassing situation. Any and all advice would be oh so appreciated !!

If I'm remembering Typhoon Lagoon correctly, there wasn't a lot of flat ground - we walked over lots of sand and what not. I think Blizzard Beach is more accessible, but it's been 8 years since I've been there.

I'm thinking a regular tube at the water parks wouldn't hold 400 lbs - maybe a double one, if they rent them? I'm not sure if they rent double ones, though.

Both of the water parks have a wheelchair accesible stop on the creek that should help him avoid the steps. I think the only bits of the park you have to go over sand to reach are the wave pools, but don't quote me on that. As far as the weight issue goes, I would email WDW and ask them, as they'll be able to advise you on type of ring.
