Wheelchairs at Cindy's ?

Are stairs the only way into the rest. ? Room at the tables for a power chair? I don't want to waste precious seconds while trying to make a CRT ressie to ask for handicapped seating. Any info. is appreciated, thanks

My DW is in a wheelchair and we didn't have any problems. There is an elevator in the loby. There were also some tables that seemed to have enough room for a larger chair. You might ask this over on the disABILITIES board as the true experts are over there.

There is and elevator from the lobby to the dining room and there is a companion bathroom in the lobby. When you check in let them know you have a wheelchair that you need to bring to the table. It may take them a few extra minutes to find you table that is wheel chair accesible...about 28 tables in the dining room are down two stairs. About 15 do not require any stairs....so it may take them a bit to get you a table since they have a smaller selection of tables to choose from. My advice is to book your PS for the beginning of a meal period. 8 am for breakfast, 11:30 for lunch and 4pm for dinner. This way all tables will be empty.

I appreciate you answering , I had just posted three different questions on the disabilities board and thought I might get this answered here so as not to bug them too much. Sounds good to me, I'll wait until I have a PS number *crossing fingers* and then mention the chair. Thanks again.

Good Luck!! And enjoy the Castle!! By the way, you wont have to make a special reservation, they will just note it on your PS, but make sure to let the podium know when you check in. Sometimes we see so many PS's in one day we dont notice all the details

We have also been to Cindys with my DD who uses a wheelchair and didn't have a problem. We did, though, let them know when we made our PS that we had a person with a wheelchair. We also made sure to mention it to the hostess CM that you check in with at the castle. As was already mentioned, not all the tables are accessible because there are two levels to the floor (one is down 2 steps).
If you need to use the accessible companion restroom, it is on the ground floor and you need to get a key from the hostess to use it. The other restrooms in the building are halfway down (or up, depending on where you are starting) the stairs.

I was in a wheelchair a year ago and went to Disney twice. I had no problem with any restaurant. They were are very thoughtful and very attentive.

I will say the only one that I had a problem with was the RFC at DTD. They tried to seat us in the very back of the rest. and there is no room to push a wheelchair through. Everyone in our path had to get up so they could get us through. I was so embrassed. They they sat us at a table that had no room for a wheel chair and just wedge me in between the servers stand and the table, which left me on an angle. Finally my family got up and pushed the table the other way so I could at least beable to get to the table. They were not happy since it did not leave much room for the other table, and to be honest by this point we did not care.

I have found the people at Disney are great to handicapped people and will go our of their way to help you.

Does anyone know if they have made the elevator at Cindy's larger. When I went 3 years ago, it was very small and hard to get in. Three of us were in it with no room to spare.

because of the location, I don't think they can make the elevator any bigger. It is pretty little.
