Are there any specially designated areas for wheelchairs and/or ECVs for parade/fireworks viewing? My MIL might have one or the other in August.

TIA :sunny:

I know there are, you might want to ask this on the disabilities forum. :goodvibes

indeed there are, they are marked on the map of the parade routes, arrive fairly early though as they can be crowded.

MK
Parade viewing is in MK (center hub), Liberty Square (by the bell), and in Tomorowland/Castle Hub (in the center)

There is no fireworks viewing area in the MK.

Epcot
There is wheelchair viewing areas for Illuminations. They are listed on the map.

MGM-Studios
There is viewing for the SAMC parade. It will be listed on the map.

Fantasmic- Wheelchair viewing is in the back (designated) and it can be in the front (the benchs have room for wheelchairs, but first-come first-serve basis)

AK
There is wheelchair viewing. It is listed on the map.

Depending on the time of the year and how busy it is, the wheelchair viewing areas might fill up very quickly. So, as was already mentioned, get there early. Some other things to think about -
- for the daytime parades, some of the wheelchair viewing spots are totally exposed to the sun.
- for Illuminations, check the wind direction. You don't want to be sitting where the wind will blow the smoke right into your eyes. We have found it easier to just find a spot along the fence around World Showcase than to use the wheelchair viewing areas. They are telling the truth when they say there are many good viewing spots all around WS.
